AFTER THE 2 NOISES THER WAS A BRIEF MFDU ALERT FOR ENGINE NR 2 FUEL PRESSURE. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO RDU. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED BORESCOPE TO NR 2 ENG HP STAGE 1, 7 AND 8 COMPRESSOR BLADES IAW AMM 71-00-01 DAMAGE EXCEEDS ALLOWABLE LIMITS. (M)

COULD NOT BRING THRUST LEVER ABOVE FLT IDLE WITHOUT VIB. GOING BACK INTO AMBER RANGE. RETURNED TO RDU. ICE CAUSING VIB MELTED PASSING 8,000 FEET. ICING VIB OCCURRED AT 21,200 FEET. PERFORMED ENGINE RUN ON NR 1 ENGINE IAW AMM 71-00-00 VIBS. WITHIN LIMITS. (X)
