DURING POWER UP CHECKS ON PREFLIGHT, RED SMOKE AVIONICS BAY CAS MESSAGE AND AUDIO CAME ON. AFTER PERFORMING THE SMART OPS PROCEDURE FOR AN ASSOCIATED ELEC SYS FAULT MESSAGE THE CAS MESSAGE CLEARED. AFTER ENGINE START THE SAME RED SMOKE AVIONICS BAY CAS MESSAGE CAME ON AND WENT OUT MULTIPLE TIMES WITH ENGINE RUNNING AND AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. CORRECTIVE ACTION: REMOVED AND REPLACED KI CONTACTOR PN: 1714137 SN: 01585 WITH NEW CONTACTOR PN: 1714137 SN: 01627. OPS CHECKS GOOD. REF GL 5000 AMM 24-51-41.
AUTOBRAKE FAIL AMBER CAS: ON FINAL ON INITIAL APPROACH, AMBER AUTOBRAKE FAIL AND CYAN BRAKE FAIL CAME ON. A GO-AROUND WAS INITIATED. ON THE SECOND APPROACH R INBOARD BRAKE FAIL CAME ON AFTER GEAR EXT. // SIGNOFF // ACCOMPLISHED LEAK CHECK OF RIGHT INBOARD BRAKE CONTROL VALVE NOTING NO DEFECT. BLEED RIGHT INBOARD BRAKE AND NO. 3 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM IAW GL-5000 AMM 32-43-00 AND 29-10-00. ACCOMPLISHED OPERATION TEST OF BRAKE SYSTEM NOTING NO DEFECTS IAW GL-5000 AMM 32-43-00. INSTALLED UPPER PORTION OF RIGHT MLG WHEEL BIN THEN INSTALLED MLG SENSING LOOP. CLOSED CIRCUIT BREAKERS FIREX CH A/ CH B ON DCPC THEN UNLOCKED AND CLOSED EMS CIRCUIT BREAKERS FIRE DETECT CH A I CH B IAW GL-5000 AMM 26-13-01. CLOSED THE REMAINING RIGHT MLG WHEEL BIN PANELS FULLY IAW GL-5000 AMM 53-30-01. ACCOMPLISHED OPERATIONAL TEST OF THE MLG OVERHEAT DETECTION SYSTEM NOTING NO DEFECTS IAW GL-5000 AMM 26-13-00. CLOSE UP COMPLETED WITH ALL OPERATIONS AND INDICATIONS NORMAL.
LANDING GEAR HANDLE PLACED DOWN, GEAR DID NOT EXTEND SLOW TO EXTEND. REMOVED CONNECTOR PLUG AND CHECKED PINS AND PLUG WITH NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED. CLEANED AND LUBRICATED SELECTOR HANDLE, SECURED CONNECTOR PLUG, AND PERFORMED MLG FUNCTIONAL CHECK. OPS CHECKED GOOD. REF MM 32-00-00.
INITIATED A 15 DEGREES LEFT TURN & HAD A BINDING IN SPOILER SYS. NO PROBLEMS ROLLING RT. AT 0-10 NORMAL 10-15 DEGREES BINDING BEGINS & AROUND 15, PRESSURE POPS OFF TO LESS THAN NORMAL. AT 18, NORMAL PRESSURE & CONTROL. OBSERVED ON BOTH CONTROL COLUMNS AT MULTIPLE SPEEDS 180 -250 KTS. EXTENDED SPEED BRAKES (210KTS), HAD NORMAL CONTROL PRESSURES & NO DISCREPANCIES. RETRACTED SPEED BRAKES, DISCREPANCY RETURNED. EXTENDED FLAPS 10 DEGREES (LESS THAN 200 KTS) BINDING STOPPED. NO BINDING THROUGHOUT REST OF APPROACH, LANDING, OR POST FLT CONTROL TEST. CHECKED SPOILER RIGGING, FOUND LT & RT SPOILER CABLE TENSIONS LOW. PERFORMED CABLE RIGGING. SPOILER OPS & RIG CHECKED GOOD IAW MM 27-60-00.

BRAKES DURING TAXI AND ROLLOUT ARE HARD AND NON- RESPOSIVE ON INITIAL APPLICATION ONCE PRESSURE IS PRESSED HARD THEN BRAKES GRAB AS IF ANTI SKID IS OFF LEFT BRAKE GRABS FIRST PULL THE AIRCRAFT LEFT. PERFORMED ANTI-SKID RESPONSE CHECK. OPS CHECKED GOOD. BLED BRAKE SYS. TAXIED CHECKED AND TESTED ANTISKID SYS TAXI AND OPS CHECKED GOOD. ALL WORK PERFORMED IAW MM CH 32-40-00.
INVESTIGATED FLIGHT CREW REPORT OF ROLL TRIM NOT RESPONDING TO SELECTED INPUTS AFTER 10 DEGRESS FLAPS SELECTED ON APPROACH. ROLL TRIM OPERATING NORMAL AFTER LANDING. FOUND INTERMITTENT OPERATION OF A194 ROLL TRIM PC BOARD ASSY. REPLACED A194 PC BOARD WITH NEW PN BOARD, OPS NORMAL. RECOMMEND MFG INVESTIGATE WHETHER ANY CERTAIN PN OR MFG DATE RANGE CAUSING HIGHER THAN NORMAL SIMILAR FAILURES IN THIS SYS.
FLIGHT CREW REPORTED FLAP ASSYMETRY ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT INDICATION AND SLIGHT RT ROLL ON APPROACH, WHEN FLAPS EXTENDED TO 20 DEGREE POSITION. FOUND LT FLAP FOLLOW-UP SWITCH ASSY. S517 AND LT FLAP POSITION TRANSMITTER MT111 ADJUSTMENTS OUT OF SERVICE LIMITS AND ADJUSTED AS REQUIRED IAW MM 27-50-00. FLAP SYS OPS CHECKS OK FOLLOWING ADJUSTMENTS, NO FAULTS INDICATED.
LANDING GEAR, DOWN LIGHTS DID NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN GEAR WAS SELECTED DOWN OR WHEN LIGHTS WERE TESTED VIA ROTARY TEST. THE GEAR WAS NOT BLOWN DOWN. INSTALLED & SAFETIED A NEW LIGHT ASSEMBLY IAW DWG 32-01-01-02, REV 01 - DEC 1, 2007 IAW; AMM 32-00-00-301. LIGHTS TEST SATISFACTORY AT THIS TIME.
ON LANDING AND TAXI IN, BRAKES ON LT AND RT SIDES APPLY WHAT FEELS LIKE MINIMAL BRAKING ON INITIAL APPLICATION. UPON INCREASE IN TOE PEDAL PRESSURE, BRAKES WILL THEN GRAB CAUSING A NOTICEABLE JERKING OF THE ACFT WHEN THEY GRAB. BLED SYS POWER BRAKE BLEED. FOUND AIR IN SYS, SERVICED HYD RESEVOIR PERFORMED HIGH SPEED TAXI, BRAKE SYS, OPS AND LEAK CHECKED GOOD. WORK DONE IAW MM 32-40-00.
AFTER GEAR RETRACTION THE RED GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT REMAINED ON AS WELL AS THE HYD PRESS CAUTION LIGHT. AFTER LOWERING THE GEAR ALL THREE GREEN LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT WENT OUT. LANDING WAS NORMAL. REPLACED LEFT AND RIGHT MAIN GEAR ACTUATOR ROD END NUT AND LOCK P/N NA5509-17 AND NA5559-6 PERFORMED MAIN GEAR WHEEL CAMBER ADJUSTMENT. CHECKED OK IAW MM 32-11-02. PERFORMED LANDING GEAR FUNCITONAL TEST. CHECKS OK IAW 560 M/M 32-01-00. REPLACED LOCK.
RT GREEN GEAR DOWN LIGHT INOP. R & R BULBS AS NEEDED, REF MM 33-11-00-201. OPS CHECK NORMAL.
CO PILOTS LT BRAKE PEDAL OPERATES AND FEELS NORMAL, RT BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS APPROX HALF THE DISTANCE OF THE LT WHEN BRAKING OCCURS. CAPTAINS LT PEDAL FEELS NORMAL, RT PEDAL WOULD GO APPROX 1 TO 2 INCHES FATHER DOWN BEFORE BRAKING WAS FELT. BRAKES WERE PUMPED AND WOULD THEN OPERATE NORMAL. THIS TOOK PLACE SEVERAL TIMES ON TAXI. AFTER A 10 MINUTE TAXI BRAKES FELT AND RESPONDED NORMALLY. PERFORMED POWER BRAKE BLEED AND MANUAL BRAKE BLEED OF THE LT AND RT BRAKES. PERFOMRED TAXI CHECK AND THE LT AND RT BRAKE PEDALS. TRAVEL IS NOW EVEN. ALL WORK PERFOMRED IAW MM 32-40-00.
BRAKES ARE DIFFICULT TO MODULATE & PERFORMANCE IS LESS THAN NORMAL. BRAKE PEDAL DEFLECTION ON BOTH SIDES IS MUCH MORE THAN NORMAL OPS. APPLIED & HELD STEADY BRAKES APPEARED TO LET GO & ADDITIONAL BRAKING DEFLECTION REQUIRED. LONGER THAN ANTICIPATED RUNWAY REQUIRED USED ON LANDING. INSPECTED ALL MASTER CYLINDERS, BRAKE HSG, RESERVOIRS, MIXING VALVES, PLUMBING, & ACCUMULATORS FOR EVIDENCE OF LEAKAGE. NONE NOTED. INSPECTED BRAKE WEAR PINS, FOUND ACCEPTABLE. PERFORMED BRAKE MIXING VALVE FUNCTIONAL CHECK; ALL CHECKS GOOD IAW MM 32-40-00, PAGE 227. BLED BRAKES IAW MM 32-40-00, PAGE 202. TAXIED ACFT, BRAKING ACTION GOOD. NO OTHER DEFECTS NOTED. REF WO 10-615 FOR DETAILS.
LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND. PERFORMED ALTERNATE GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURE.
UPON LANDING RT BRAKE PEDAL IN BOTH PILOT & COPILOTS POSITION WAS APPLIED TO FULLY DEPRESSED POSITION & RESPONDED WITH NEGATIVE BRAKING EFFECT ON BOTH POSITIONS. FOUND PILOTS RT MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING. REPLACED PILOTS RT MASTER CYLINDER WITH UNIT O/H. OPS AND LEAK CHECK GOOD. ALL WORK IAW MM 32-40-00.
RT BRAKE PEDAL DROPPED TO THE FLOOR ON BOTH SIDES UPON USAGE DURING LANDING ROLL. PIC IN LT SEAT PUMPED RT BRAKE PEDAL 3 TIMES AND RT BRAKE STARTED TO WORK AGAIN. INITIAL INSP FOUND BOTH PILOT AND CO PILOT BRAKE PEDALS FIRM WHEN DEPRESSED ACCOMPISHED BRAKE BLEEDING PRODECURE AND NOTED AIR FROM THE RT BRAKE ASSY ACCOMPISHED IAW MM 32-40-00.
ANTI SKID INOP ON LANDING IN SDF (HARD PEDALS AND WHEEL BRAKES LOCKING). RAN & TAXIED AIRCRAFT TO PERFORM OPERATIONAL CHECK AND TO VERIFY SQUAWK. COULD NOT DUPLICATE SQUAWK AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS W/ SWITCH IN EACH POSITION. SYSTEM OPERATES NORMALLY. PERFORMED WORK IAW THE HAWKER 400XP MM CH 32-40.
DURING FLIGHT FROM SLC TO COS, HAD A BURNING SMELL IN COCKPIT AND CABIN WHEN ENG AND WING ANTI-ICE WAS TURNED ON, SMELL WAS STRONGER IN CABIN. FELT SIDE PANEL IN CABIN BUT THEY WERE NOT EXCESSIVELY WARM. M2B: INSPECTED WING ANTI ICE DUCTS FOR CONDITION AND LEAKS. NO DEFECTS NOTED. INSPECTED CABIN HEAT DUCTS; ALL WERE NORMAL. REMOVED VENT PANEL ON CEILING OF LAVATORY. INSPECTED DUCTS AND WIRING, NOTED SMALL AMOUNT OF ODOR CONTRIBUTED SMELL TO NEW DUCTS WARMING UP. REINSTALLED VENT COVER. PERFORMED OPS CK OF ENG AND WING HEAT NO ODOR OR DEFECTS NOTED OPERATIONAL CHECK SATISFACTORY.
