Maintenance disclosures
DURING FLIGHT, THE CREW SMELLED A BURNING SMELL IN THE CABIN. THE PILOT DEACTIVATED THE A/C SYSTEM AND PERFORMED AND UNSCHEDULED LANDING. UPON MAINTENANCE ARRIVAL, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE EVAPORATOR MOTOR WAS INOPERATIVE. THE SYSTEM WAS DEFERRED AND THE BLOWER WAS REPLACED UPON RECEIPT.
ABOUT 4 MINUTES INTO FLIGHT STRAIGHT AND LEVEL NR 1 ENGINE ROLLED BACK TO 74 PERCENT N1 UNCOMMANDED. NR1 ENGINE LOW LIGHT ILLUMINATED. PILOT CONFIRMED PCL WAS IN FULL FORWARD FLY POSITION AND ATTEMPTED TO BEEP NR1 ENGINE UP USING ENGINE TRIM SWITCH, ENGINE REMAINED AT 74 PERCENT N1. PILOT RETURNED TO BASE AND PERFORMED EMERGENCY OEI RUN ON LANDING WITHOUT INCIDENT. MECHANIC PERFORMED INSPECTION OF ACFT AND FOUND NO OBVIOUS CAUSE FOR THIS MALFUNCTION. TECHNICAL WAS CONTACTED AND CAME OUT TO THE ACFT. AFTER CONDUCTING TESTS HE CONCLUDED THE FUEL CONTROL WAS FAULTY. REPLACEMENT FUEL CONTROL DID INDEED RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.
THE NR 2 ENGINE CHIP LIGHT ILLUMINATED ENROUTE TO A SCENE CALL. THE PILOT IMMEDIATELY ABORTED THE FLIGHT AND RETURNED TO BASE LESS THAN 3 MILES AWAY. UPON ARRIVING AT THE BASE, THE MECHANIC INSPECTED THE CHIP PLUGS AND FOUND METAL ON THE M05 MAGNETIC PLUG AND THE FWD LT HORIZ ELECTRIC CHIP PLUG. THE CHIPS FROM BOTH PLUGS WERE SENT FOR ANALYSIS. THE RESULTS FROM THE LAB ANALYSIS INDICATED THE SOURCE WAS THE HIGH SPEED BEARING MATERIAL. IAW MFG.

REASON FOR REMOVAL FAILED HYSTERESIS CHECK SUSPECTED AUTO PILOT PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WAS WHEN THIS AIRCRAFT WAS DELIVERED THE HYD PACK HAD ANOTHER MFG SERVO ON IT. AND THE AUTO PILOT SYSTEM NEVER WORKED. SO FINALLY WE GOT THE RIGHT HYD PACK WITH THE FWM SERVO'S ON IT. WE ARE ASKING FOR WARRANTY ON THE ONE THAT WAS REMOVED AND THE NEW ONE THAT WAS INSTALLED. HARD CARDS ARE ENCLOSED.

SOUNDS LIKE BEARING GOING BAD IN GYRO UNIT. REPLACED WITH SERVICEABLE UNIT.
FUEL PUMP PRODUCING LOW OIL PRESSURE. REPLACED WITH SERVICEABLE UNIT. 02/03/2004
ACCESSORY GEARBOX REMOVED FROM ENGINE DUE TO HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION. REPLACED WITH SERVICEABLE UNIT.
