ENGINE CHIP EVENT - INTERMITTENT ILLUMINATION OF ENGINE CHIP INDICATION DURING CRUISE FLIGHT AFTER MAKING A TURN. DURING DESCENT AND LANDING AT A LOCAL BALL FIELD, THE CHIP LIGHT FLICKERED MULTIPLE TIMES. MAINTENANCE DISPATCHED FROM HONOLULU AND INSPECTED THE CHIP DETECTOR WITH NO CHIPS PRESENT. CLEANED DETECTOR AND CONNECTOR, INSPECTED ASSOCIATED WIRING AND RETURNED TO SERVICE AFTER GROUND RUN AND OPS CHECK FLIGHT. NO FURTHER INDICATIONS. RETURNED TO BASE AND ORDERED A DETECTOR AND CONNECTOR AS A PRECAUTION.
