Part: LINE — CHAFED (NR 2 CYLINDER)

DURING REMOVAL OF THE NR 2 CYLINDER, MECHANIC NOTED B-NUT ON THE NR 2 CYLINDER FUEL LINE LOCATED AT THE T-FITTING WAS WORN. THE B-NUT HAD BEEN CHAFING AGAINST THE STARTER MOTOR CABLE AND HAD WORN THE FUEL LINE NUT TO AN UNSERVICEABLE CONDITION. REPLACED B-NUT AND REPOSITIONED LINE.

Part: VALVE — CORRODED (NR 2 CYLINDER)

DURING A ROUTINE COMPRESSION CHECK, CYLINDER AIR PRESSURE ABOVE 6 PSI COULD NOT BE MAINTAINED IN NR 2 CYLINDER. AIR WAS FELT ESCAPING FROM THE INDUCTION AIRBOX. MECHANIC TAPPED ON INTAKE VALVE WITH A DRIFT. SUBSEQUENT COMPRESSION CHECKS FAILED AS WELL. CYLINDER REMOVED. FOUND EXHAUST VALVE CORRODED AND PITTED BEYOND LIMITS. INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES WERE RE-SEATED AND CYLINDER BENCH CHECKED.
