DURING THE COMPLETION OF AAIP A ZONE 0301 AIRFRAME INSPECTION NOTICED A CRACK ON THE AVIONICS BAY CEILING. REFERENCED MSR AND NOTIFIED TECH REP AND WAS NOTIFIED CRACK COULD BE REPAIRED UNDER SERVICE BULLETIN SB-BK117C2-53-013. THIS AIRCRAFT REMAINS OUT OF SERVICE AT THE TIME OF THIS SUBMISSION AWAITING THE INCLUSION OF THIS SERVICE BULLETIN/CRACK REPAIR.
DURING A SCHEDULED INSPECTION EVENT, A CRACK WAS FOUND AT STATION 6616 APPROX. 2 O'CLOCK POSTION IN THE TAIL CONE AREA. THE REPAIR IS COVERED IN THE SRM FOR THIS AIRCRAFT. RECOMMENDED REENFORCEMENT TO AREA IAW SB 53-004 AS PER AIRBUS TECH REP. THIS AIRCRAFT REMAINS OUT OF SERVICE AT THE TIME OF THIS SUBMISSION TO HAVE THIS CRACK REPAIRED, AND THE REST OF THE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE COMPLETED.
ENGINE CHIP LIGHT ILLUMINATED DURING AIRCRAFT STARTING. NO METAL FOUND ON CHIP PLUG. ENGINE OIL FILTER WAS REMOVED AND FLUSHED. NUMEROUS SHINNY METAL PARTICLES FOUND IN OIL ALONG WITH CARBON PARTICLES. OIL SAMPLE AND FILTER WERE SENT FOR ANAYSIS.
INTERMITTENT NR 2 ENGINE FIRE WARNING LIGHT, WITH AUDIO, IN FLIGHT. NO EVIDENCE OF ACTUAL FIRE. ALL DETECTION SYSTEMS NOMINAL ON GROUND, STATIC AND GROUND RUN.
TWO CRACKS FOUND ON FRAME DURING INSPECTION AT STATION 6616 APPROX. 2 O'CLOCK POSITION. RECOMMENDED RE-ENFORCEMENT TO AREA IAW SB 53-004 .
APPROXIMATELY 20MM (.78") CRACK FOUND IN 9LA UPPER FRAME STRUCTURE PN B535M2093202 NEAR BOTTOM RIVET ON RIGHT SIDE DURING INSPECTION OF TAIL BOOM AFTER REMOVAL OF HORIZONTAL STABILIZER. WAS ADVISED BY TECH REP TO ACCOMPLISH SERVICE BULLETIN 53-011 REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF 9LA UPPER AND LOWER FRAMES TO PREVENT FUTURE CRACKS IN THIS AREA.
DURING CRUISE FLIGHT THE CREW DETECTED A STRONG ELECTRICAL BURNING ODOR. TURNED OFF A/C AND FAN AND THE ODOR SEEMED TO DISAPPEAR. LANDED AT DESTINATION WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT OR ODOR. FOUND FRESH AIR VENT IN THA A/C INSTALLATION TO BE INOPERATIVE. CONCLUDED THE BURNED RELAY COULD HAVE CAUSED THE FAN MOTOR TO HEAT UP AND CAUSE THE ODOR.
DURING TAKEOFF, SMELLED ELECTRICAL BURNING, NO SMOKE IN AIRCRAFT. RETURNED TO BASE. FOUND ODOR TO BE COMING FROM SWITCH FOR CONTROLLABLE IR SEARCHLIGHT. SWITCH IS MOUNTED IN COLLECTIVE.
