AFTER TAKING OFF OUT OF KRQE, THA LANDING GEAR DID NOT RETRACT AFTER BRINGING THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE UP. I STILL HAD 3 GREENS. AFTER SPEAKING WITH OUR PILOT MANAGER ON CALL (PMOC) AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER ON CALL (MMOC) BY SAT PHONE I DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. PRIOR TO LANDING I BROUGHT THE GEAR HANDLE BACK TO THE DOWN POSITION AND MADE A NORMAL LANDING.

DURING CLIMB, THE GEAR PUMP COULD BE HEARD ENGAGING SEVERAL TIMES FOR A MINUTE. IT CEASED, AND A MINUTE LATER, THE RED LIGHT CAME ON IN THE GEAR HANDLE. AS WE CONTINUED OUR CLIMB, THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE DETERIORATION OF CLIMB PERFORMANCE. I CHOSE TO DIVERT TO SOW, AND TRY TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN WHILE ENROUTE. PUTTING THE GEAR HANDLE DOWN DID NOT LOWER THE GEAR, SO WE USED THE ALTERNATE EXTENSION PROCEDURE AND PUMPED IT DOWN. THE MAINS INDICATED DOWN AND GREEN IN ABOUT 20 PUMPS, THE NOSE TOOK ABOUT ANOTHER 20 TO INDICATE DOWN AND GREEN. REMOVED LND GEAR CONTOL ASSY PN: 101-384137-7 SN: 1287A, INSTALLED OVERHAULED LND GEAR CONTROL ASSY PN:101-384137-7 SN:1783A, REMOVED POWER PACK RELAY PN:MS24184-D1 SN:MFD9648. ,INSTALLED SERVICEABLE POWER PACK RELAY PN:MS24184-D1 SN:9536, . REMOVED DAMAGED MLG DOWNLOCK SWITCH PN:90-361037-13 SN:UNREADABLE, INSTALLED NEW PN:90-361037-13 SN:9144141F. ALL WORK DONE IAW BCKAC9O MM CH. 32-61-07,32-31-00,32-31-03 & SPA CH.20-12-01,20-01-00. GROUND FUNCTIONAL TEST GOOD. NO DEFICIENCIES NOTED.

ATA 3230

WHILE ENROUTE TO KOGD, I RECEIVED A HYD FLUID LOW LIGHT IN FLIGHT AND THEN IT EXTINGUISHED, I TESTED THE HYDRAULIC FLUID SENSOR AND RECEIVED NORMAL INDICATIONS. ONCE I CAME INTO LAND, I ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE GEAR AND NOTHING LOWERED. I DID NOT HEAR THE PUMP AT ALL. I RAISED THE GEAR HANDLE AND RECEIVED THE LANDING GEAR UNSAFE LIGHTS ON THE GEAR HANDLE. I PULLED AND RESET THE LANDING GEAR RELAY CIRCUIT BREAKER AND ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE GEAR AND ONCE AGAIN NOTHING HAPPENED. I DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH OGDEN TOWER AND REQUESTED A NW TURN TO TROUBLESHOOT. I CALLED THE COMM CENTER AND SPOKE WITH JEN ADVISING OF THE SITUATION AND THAT I WOULD CALL BACK FOR MX IF THE MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION DIDN’T WORK. I MANUALLY EXTENDED THE LANDING GEAR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LANDING GEAR MANUAL EXTENSION CHECKLIST AND GOT ALL THREE GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATIONS. I RETURNED TO OGDEN AIRPORT AND DID LOW APPROACH SO THE TOWER COULD VISUALLY VERIFY THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND IT WAS. I LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND HAD OGDEN MAINTENANCE VERIFY THE GEAR WAS SAFE. CORRECTIVE ACTION: FOUND LANDING GEAR CIRCUIT BREAKER POPPED. UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CONCERN. REPLACING MOTOR IN CASE OF INTERMITTENT CONCERN.
