DURING THE LANDING FLARE, A BIRD STRUCK THE OTBD L/E OF THE LT WING. THE CREW LANDED THE ACFT WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THE LEADING EDGE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AND THE ACFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
JUST AFTER TAKEOFF AT APPROXIMATELY 1700 (L) CREW OBSERVED A HIGH OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATION ON THE LT ENG. THE CAPTAIN REDUCED POWER AND THE OIL TEMPERATURE CAME DOWN BUT THE OIL PRESSURE ALSO CAME DOWN TO AN ABNORMALLY LOW PRESSURE. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND RETURNED TO STT. AFTER LANDING UNEVENTFULLY, THE CREW SHUT DOWN THE LT ENG AND TAXIED TO THE PARKING AREA. THE CREW ATTEMPTED TO PULL THE PROPELLER THROUGH BUT WAS ONLY ABLE TO MOVE IT A SHORT DISTANCE. THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE HEARD IN THE NOSE CASE. SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION BY A MECHANIC REVEALED SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF METAL IN THE OIL SCREEN. THE LT ENG WILL BE REMOVED AND REPLACED. OPEN. (S)

ON APPROACH, (EIS) THE CREW NOTED THE RT ENGINE OIL QUANTITY DROPPING. THE RT ENGINE WAS SHUTDOWN AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND MAINTENANCE FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF EXTERNAL OIL LEAKAGE. FURTHER INVESTIGATION INDICATED THE FRONT SCAVENGE OIL PUMP HAD FAILED AND THE OIL WAS POOLED IN THE FRONT GEARBOX. THE FORWARD SCAVENGE PUMP WAS REMOVED AND THE DRIVE MECHANISM WAS INSPECTED. NO DAMAGE WAS FOUND. OIL SCREENS WERE INSPECTED AND THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF METAL IN THE OIL SCREENS. THE FORWARD SCAVENGE PUMP WAS REPLACED AND THE ENGINE RUN WITH NO ABNORMALITIES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THE ENGINE SCREENS WERE RECHECKED FOR METAL WITH NO FINDINGS. THE AIRCR
WHILE ENROUTE, CREW OBSERVED THE RT ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH. THE CREW PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY IN-FLIGHT ENGINE SHUT-DOWN AND DIVERTED. INSPECTION OF THE RT ENGINE REVEALED THAT THE NUMBER EIGHTEEN CYLINDER WAS CRACKED. THE CYLINDER WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. (K)
