ATA 3260

THE CREW REPORTED OF FINAL INTO KCLT THAT THE GEAR HAD NO INDICATION OF GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED. THE CREW PERFORMED A MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION WITH THE GEAR HANDLE AND WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY THAT ALL GEAR WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION. THEY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND DID A FLYBY. THE TOWER CONFIRMED THE GEAR WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE CREW LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AN INSPECTION OF THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM AND FOUND A WORN CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE LANDING GEAR POSITION LIGHTS. MAINTENANCE REPLACED WITH NEW CIRCUIT BREAKER. THE OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS COMPLIED WITH. THE CHECK WAS NORMAL AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED AND RETURNED TO SERVICE.

ATA 5730

THE PILOT REPORTED THAT ON DESCENT APPROX 35 MILES SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT AT 6000 FT & 179 KTS, A QUICK FLASH OF BIRDS APPEARED IN FRONT OF THE ACFT FOLLOWED BY A BUMP HEARD ON THE RT SIDE OF THE ACFT. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE WHILE IN FLIGHT. UPON LANDING DURING POST FLIGHT INSPECTION THERE WAS A BIRD STRIKE FOUND ON THE RT WING OTBD OF THE ENG NACELLE. THE LE DAMAGE HAD MAJOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE THAT IS CURRENTLY UNDER REPAIR A FOLLOW UP TO THIS SDR REPORT WILL BE SUBMITTED WHEN THE REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE.
