DURING CRUISE AT FL430 WE SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE GRINDING/SEAZING, THIS WAS SHORTLY FILLED BY THE COCKPIT FILLING WITH SMOKE. WE COMPLIED WITH APPROPRAITE MEMORY ITEMS AND CHECKLISTS. SHORTY AFTER THIS THE RIGHT FADEC FAILED ALONG WITH THE RIGHT ENGINE AND A EXTREMELY INTENSE VIBRATION THAT CAUSED OVER HEAD PANELS TO FALL. WE CONTINUED THE EMERGENCY DESCENT AND RAN THE INFLIGHT ENGINE SHUT DOWN QRC, THE SMOKE DIMINISHED AND THE VIBRATION CONTINUED. WE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THERE WAS NOT WARNING PRIOR TO THE EVENT, NO ABNORMAL ENGINE INDICATIONS.

MAIN DOOR MOTOR: WHEN RAISING THE MAIN CABIN DOOR USING THE AIR STAIR DOOR SWITCH FROM INSIDE THE CABIN. THE DOOR RAISES NORMALLY. BUT AFTER LOWERING THE LOCKING HANDLE TO THE LOCKED POSITION. THE MOTOR (THAT I ASSUME OPERATES, THE LOCKING PINS) RUNS WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE ABOUT FOUR + TIMES THE NORMAL RUNTIME. ALSO THERE IS GRINDING NOISE HEARD FROM INSIDE THE CABIN WHEN STANDING DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DOOR. IN SUMMARY THE DOOR MOTOR THAT NORMALLY RUNS FROM 1 TO 2 SECONDS IT'S NOW RUNNING ABOUT 10 TO 12 SECONDS WITH A GRINDING NOISE I'VE NEVER HAVE HEARD BEFORE. CORRECTIVE ACTION: CONFIRMED DOOR LINKAGE NOISY DURING OPERATION, LUBRICATED DOOR LINKAGE IAW GL6000 AMM 12-22-00. OPS CHECKED DOOR IAW GL6000 AMM 52-11-00 OPS CHECK GOOD. NO GRINDING OR ABNORMAL NOISES NOTED AFTER DOOR WAS LUBRICATED.

MAIN CABIN DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY. IT GETS TO THE TOP BUT THERE IS AN INCH GAP STILL AT TOP OF DOOR AND HANDLE DOES NOT MOVE. ARRIVED ON-SITE WITH THE CREW THERE AND PERFORMED SEVERAL OPERATIONAL TESTS OF THE PASSENGER DOOR IAW AMM 52-11-00-710-801 AND FOUND THE OPERATIONAL TESTS SATISFACTORY. NOTE: DUE TO THE WIND IN KSFO, PUSHING THE DOOR INTO THE RECESSED POSITION, IF IT IS NOT COMPLETELY INTO THE RECESS, AND THEN PULLING THE HANDLE DOWN MAY BE NECESSARY. THIS IS STATED IN THE MANUAL. SPOKE TO MCC, NO HISTORY, AND NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED

MAIN DOOR CABIN SEAL ON FORWARD LOWER PORTION MAKES LOUD WIND NOISE AT FL450. DELTA PSI 10.31, AT FL430, DELTA PSI 10.29) AND BELOW THE DOOR SEAL FUNCTIONS NORMALLY. CLOSED MED & NOTED ON THE TOP FWD SIDE YOU COULD SEE DAYLIGHT. SHIMMED FWD SIDE OF DOOR SEAL WITH 3M-4504 FOAM TAPE. CLOSED DOOR & VERIFIED NO DAYLIGHT COULD BE SEEN, PRESSURIZED ACFT TO 10.3 PSID WITH NO SQUEALING NOTED & LEAK CHECK GOOD. DEPRESSURIZED, CLEANED & LUBED DOOR SEAL, RESET OUTFLOW VALVE 1&2 SWITCHES TO OPEN OUTFLOW VALVES. ALL WORK DONE IAW AMM 52-11-37 & TASK 21-31-00-720-804.

DURING CRUISE FLIGHT AT FLS 410, 430, 450, THE DOOR SEAL ON CABIN DOOR IS NOT SEALING ADEQUATELY. OBSERVED LOUD AIR NOISE & DAYLIGHT ALONG VERTICAL PORTION OF RT OF DOOR. INSPECTED THE SEAL AROUND DOOR & FOUND NO MAJOR FAULTS WITH THE SEAL ITSELF. I INSPECTED DOOR & THE FRAME AS WELL & FOUND NO DEFECTS. CYCLED DOOR OPEN & CLOSE TO SEE IF THE DOOR WAS SETTING INTO CORRECT POSTION, NO DEFECTS NOTED. PERFORMED GVI OF MAIN DOOR SEAL, NO DEFECTS FOUND. CLOSED CABIN DOOR & FOUND A SMALL AMOUNT OF LIGHT SHINING THROUGH FWD SIDE OF DOOR SEAL ADJUSTED DOOR SEAL IAW AMM. PRESSUREIZED ACFT & NO DEFECT FOUND. OPS/LEAK CHECK GOOD. PERFORMED WORK IAW MM 21-00-00 & 52-11-37.
