ACFT LEFT AIRPORT ON A TOUR FLIGHT AT 1:31PM, APPROX 20 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, PILOT SMELLED A "BURNED" TYPE ELECTRICAL SMELL IN THE CABIN. PILOT RETURNED TO BASE AT AIRPORT AND MADE A NORMAL LANDING. MX INSPECTED THE ACFT AND FOUND THAT THE 7 INCH CONDENSOR (ELECTRICAL) BLOWER MOTOR FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE CONDENSOR MOTOR CIRCUIT BREAKER WAS POPPED IN THE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL BOX. THE DEFECTIVE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM CONDENSOR BLOWER MOTOR WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A NEW BLOWER MOTOR AND THE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL BOX WAS ALSO REPLACED WITH A SERVICEABLE UNIT AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. NO FURTHER DEFECTS FOUND. AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM INSTALLED ON THIS ACFT (STC SH3509SW).

JAN 9, 2001 WHILE ON A SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT, THE PILOT EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE CHIP WARNING. HE MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING. A MECHANIC WAS FLOWN TO THE SCENE AND A SMALL HAIRLIKE SLIVER WAS FOUND ON THE MAGNETIC PLUG. THE CHIP PLUG WAS CLEANED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS GROUND RUN. LEAK CHECKED WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.

WHILE ON A SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT ON MAUI, HAWAII ON 2-23-00 AT APPROXIMATELY 3 PM HST, PILOT EXPERIENCED A LOW VOLTAGE CONDITION ON THE AIRCRAFT. PILOT THEN ELECTED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT KEANAE PENNINSULA. FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND THE BATTERY WAS LOW DUE TO GENERATOR FAILURE. THE BATTERY AND THE GENERATOR WERE REPLACED AND FUNCTIONALLY CHECKED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. (X)
DURING FLIGHT, PILOT EXPERIENCED LOW MAIN ROTOR SPEED CONDITION WITH AURAL WARNING. PILOT THEN LOWERED COLLECTIVE CONTROL AND MAINTAINED OPERATING SPEED OF ROTOR SYSTEM. AT THAT TIME, HE ELECTED TO TAKE GOVERNOR OUT OF THE AUTO POSITION AND INTO MANUAL OVERRIDE. HE WAS THEN ABLE TO MAINTAIN OPERATING SPEED OF THE ROTOR SYS AND FLEW BACK TO BASE. EMERGENCY LANDING DECLARED, ACFT LANDED WITH SLIGHT FORWARD RUN WITH NO DAMAGE OR INJURIES. EXAM OF ENGINE FOUND BROKEN P2 PIPE AND WAS REPLACED. POSSIBLE CAUSE UNKNOWN AND INCREASED INSP TO PREVENT RECURRENCE.
