PILOT REPORTED WHITE SMOKE APPEARED FROM UNDER DASH BY BRAKE HANDLE FOR 3 SECONDS JUST BEFORE SHUTDOWN. THE ISSUE WAS TROUBLESHOT TO FAILED DIODES IN THE VOLTMETER CIRCUIT. THE DIODES WERE REPLACED IAW THE WIRING DIAGRAM MANUAL, SEC 2. THE OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE VOLTMETER WAS SATISFACTORY AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. NO FURTHER SMOKE NOTED.

DURING CLIMB OUT, NOTICE A SMELL IN THE CABIN. IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED ATC OF THE SITUATION IN CASE THE CONDITION DETERIORATED. THEY ASKED IF I WAS DECLARING AN EMER, RESPONDED NOT AT THIS TIME. REQUESTED TO REMAIN AT 5,000 FEET & SAME HEADING TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE SMELL. UTILIZE THE WORD SMOKE IN MY COMMUNICATION INTENDING TO SAY AN ACRID SMELL. THE SMELL WENT AWAY RAPIDLY & NO OTHER INDICATIONS OF PROBLEMS WERE NOTED. NOTIFIED ATC THAT ALL SYS WERE OPERATING & THAT THERE WAS NO ODOR OR SMOKE IN THE CABIN. REQUESTED TO PROCEED. UPON LANDING, TURNED THE COMBUSTION HEATER ON NOTICING AN ACRID SMELL IN THE CABIN. WROTE UP THAT, THE COMBUSTION HEATER HAS AN ACRID SMELL WHEN ON, IN THE LOG BOOK.

PILOT APPLIED TAKEOFF POWER FOR DEPARTURE. AT THE TIME BOTH ENGINES STABILIZED AT 1300 FT/LBS OF TORQUE THE PILOTED HEARD A LOUD BANG FOLLOWED BY A GRINDING NOISE FROM THE RT ENGINE. THE PILOT ABORTED THE TAKEOFF AND SHUTDOWN THE ENGINE AND RETURNED TO THE GATE. PRELIMINARY MX EVALUATION REVEALED THAT SEVERAL BLADES OF THE POWER TURBINE DISK HAD SEPARATED FOR UNKNOWN REASON. A SERVICEABLE POWER SECTION HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND THE ACFT HAS BEEN RETURNED TO SERVICE.

DEPARTED AND LEVELED OFF AT 9000 FT. DURING DECENT THROUGH 7800 FT THE PILOT NOTED A "LOADING NOISE" AND THE ACFT YAWED FROM THE ASSIGNED HEADING. THE ACFT EXPERIENCED A CONSTANT BUFFETING AND VIBRATION COULD BE FELT THROUGH THE AIRCRAFT. AFTER 5-6 SECONDS THE VIBRATIONS CEASED BUT THE YAW TENDENCIES CONTINUED AND DID OCCASIONAL BUFFETING. THE PILOT DECLARED AND EMERGENCY AS THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED. THE PILOT SLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO 140KTS. THE PILOT TURNED ON ALL LIGHTS AS THE FLIGHT WAS CLEAR FOR IMMEDIATE LANDING AND THE ICE LIGHT ON THE RT SIDE ILLUMINATED THE OUTLINE OF A DISTORTED AFT UPPER ENGINE COWLING WHICH APPEAR TO BE FIXED AND NOT MOVING. WHEN LANDING WAS ASSURED THE PILOT SECURED THE RT ENGINE AND A SINGLE ENGINE LANDING WAS EXECUTED. THE FLIGHT TERMINATED WITHOUT ADDITIONAL INCIDENT. MAINT INSP OF THE ACFT REVEALED THE RT ENGINE COWL HAD OPENED IN FLIGHT DUE TO UNDETERMINED CAUSE. ACFT DAMAGE WAS CONTAINED TO THE ENGINE COWL ASSY. THE COWL ASSY AND RELATED HARDWARE WAS REPLACED WITH SERVICEABLE PARTS AND THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. (K)
