CIRCUIT BREAKER POPPED DUE TO FUEL PUMP ELECTRICAL DRAW ON SYSTEM HIGH RESISTANCE.
DURING INSPECTION FOUND A DISTRIBUTOR GEAR TOOTH BROKEN AND LAYING IN MAGNETO CAP. THIS MAGNETO HAS PLASTIC GEARS AND HAS BEEN FOUND IN THIS CONDITION ON NUMEROUS MAGNETOS OF THIS TYPE.
DURING INSPECTION FOUND A DISTRIBUTOR GEAR TOOTH BROKEN AND LAYING IN MAG CAP. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. THIS MAG HAS PLASTIC GEARS AND HAS BEEN FOUND IN THIS CONDITION ON NUMEROUS MAGNETOS OF THIS TYPE IN THE PAST.
INSPECTION FOUND RIGHT NOSE GEAR DOOR BRACE CRACKED AT REAR ATTACH POINT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOUND ON THIS MODEL AIRCRAFT.
INSPECTION FOUND RIGHT NOSE GEAR DOOR BRACE BROKEN AT REAR ATTACH POINT. ALSO CRACKED OUT FROM RIVETS AT AFT END OF BRACE.
NOSE GEAR DROPPED OUT OF WHEEL WELL IN FLIGHT. FOUND DOWNLOCK BROKEN WHERE NOSE ACTUATOR ROD ATTACHES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION WITH SAME TYPE OF AIRCRAFT IN THE PAST.
NOSE GEAR DROPPED OUT OF WHEEL WELL INFLIGHT. FOUND DOWNLOCK BROKEN WHERE NOSE ACTUATOR ROD ATTACHES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION WITH SAME TYPE OF AIRCRAFT IN THE PAST. SUSPECT MFG. IS MAKING PART FROM SUBSTANDARD MATERIAL. THIS PROBLEM HAS JUST BEEN HAPPENING IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR. THIS PART WAS INSTALLED NEW ABOUT 350 HOUR PREVIOUSLY.(K)
DURING FLIGHT, ENGINE STARTED RUNNING VERY ROUGH, HAD POWER LOSS. AFTER LANDING, INSPECTION FOUND NR 1 CYLINDER EXHAUST VALVE ROCKER ARM SHAFT RETAINING PLATE HAD COME OFF ALLOWING THE ROCKER SHAFT TO SLIDE OUT. THE ROCKER THEN WAS PUSHED OUT BY THE PUSH ROD. DAMAGE TO THE VALVE COVER AND CLYLINDER HEAD ENSUED. NO OTHER ENGINE DAMAGE OCCURRED. SUBMITTER SUGGESTED A POSSIBLE CAUSE COULD BE STAR WASHERS UNDER SECURING NUTS FOR PLATE DID NOT RETAIN TORQUE ON NUTS. RECOMMEND SPECIFIC ATTENTION BE GIVEN DURING INSPECTION TO RETAINING HARDWARE.
