FOD DAMAGE TO LT ENGINE IN FLIGHT. COVER FOR FUEL CAP CAME OFF IN FLIGHT AND WAS INGESTED BY THE ENGINE. ENGINE OPERATION WAS REPORTED NORMAL. REMOVED DAMAGED ENGINE AND INSTALLED A RENTAL ENGINE. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
