DISCREPANCY: IN CRUISE FLIGHT THE CHIP CWAS LIGHT STARTED TO CONTINUOUSLY FLASH ON AND OFF, THIS CONTINUED THROUGHOUT THE DESCENT. DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH ATC, CONDUCTED APPROPRIATE CHECKLIST, AND LANDED AS SOON AS PRACTICAL. CORRECTIVE ACTION: FOUND BROKEN WIRE AND CHAFFED WIRE ON THE CHIP DETECTOR CANNON PLUG. REMOVED DAMAGED WIRE, PINS AND INSTALLED NEW CONTACT PINS AND NEW CHIP DETECTOR. CHIP DETECTOR LIGHT OPERATIONALLY CHECKS GOOD AT THIS TIME. AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED WITH A SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONAL CHECK FLIGHT.

CORRECTIVE ACTION: MECHANIC REMOVED CABIN FLOOR BOARDS, INSPECTED AVIONICS BOXES, WIRES, UNDER FLOOR HEATER, FLIGHT COMPARTMENT A/C SYSTEM, DE-ICE SYSTEM, BRAKES, AND ENGINE. PERFORMED GND RUN AND CHECK FLIGHT NO FURTHER DISCREPANCIES.

PILOT LANDED AIRCRAFT SAFELY. POST-FLIGHT INSPECTION NOTED BELLY DAMAGE INDICATION GEAR UP LANDING. PERFORMED FUNCTION TEST ON LANDING GEAR EXTENSION AND RETRACTION SYSTEM, NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED. POSITION INDICATOR LIGHTS AND WARNING TONES FUNCTION NORMALLY. INSPECTED GEAR HANDLE, GEAR SELECTOR VALVE LINKAGE, LANDING GEAR SELECTOR VALVE, HYDRAULIC SERVICE TRAY, HYDRAULIC SERVICE SELECTOR VALVE, HYDRAULIC LOW-PRESSURE SWITCH, HYDRAULIC DELTA P INDICATOR, HYDRAULIC LINES, HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE, AND HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR WITH NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED.
