PROBLEM: DURING A FLIGHT FROM KILG TO KPSM THE FLIGHT CREW ENCOUNTERED "SMOKE IN COCKPIT/CABIN, DISSIPATED AFTER SECURING CABIN HEAT." THEY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND DIVERTED TO KPNE, LANDING WITHOUT INCIDENT. RESOLUTION: THE FLIGHT CREW DISCREPANCY " SMOKE IN THE CABIN" WAS CALLED TO THE AIRCRAFT AND WORKED BY OUTSTATION MAINTENANCE. THE FOLLOWING WAS COMPLETED TO RETURN THE AIRCRAFT TO SERVICE. FOUND LH AFT CABIN HEATER WITH BURNT SMELL AND SMOKED DURING OPERATIONAL CHECK. REMOVED AND REPLACED LH AFT CABIN HEATER PN ON/OFF 959.90.20.405 SN ON: 1-F772211-3, SN 1-F772310-2 IAW AMM PC24-A-E21-40-0002-00A-520A-A, PC24-A-E21-40-0002-00A-720A-A OPS CHECK GOOD, NO DEFECTS NOTED.

RED DYE OIL LEAKAGE AT THE CYLINDER TO HUB ATTACH POINT. OIL IS LEAKING PAST THE CYLINDER GASKET TO THE ATTACHING SCREWS AND FOLLOWING THE THREADS OUT. ADDITIONAL SEALANT NEEDS TO BE ADDED TOT HE SCREWS DURING INSTALLATION AND PARTICULAR ATTENTION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO TORQUING THE SCREWS TO ASSURE PROPER SEATING OF THE GASKET. (K)
