Maintenance disclosures
IN CRUISE FLIGHT, CREW RECOGNIZED SMOKE FROM DC BUSS PANEL. THE CREW REPORTED NO CIRCUIT BREAKERS OR SWITCH BREAKERS WERE TRIPPED. DURING ISOLATION OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, NO MORE SMOKE WAS NOTED. THE CREW ELECTED TO DIVERT TO KSLK AS A PRECAUTION AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. COMPANY MAINTENANCE IDENTIFIED THE DROPPING RESISTOR WITHIN THE CABIN HEATER VENTILATING FAN CIRCUIT TO BE BURNED. THE RESISTOR IS MOUNTED WITHIN THE DC BUSS PANEL. THE RESISTOR, CABIN VENTILATING FAN HI/LOW SWITCH, AND CABIN VENTILATING FAN WERE REPLACED.
CYLINDER REMOVED DUE TO LOW COMPRESSION AT INSPECTION. EXHAUST VALVE DISPLAYS EVIDENCE OF HEAT DAMAGE.

JUST AFTER LIFTOFF, STILL AT TAKEOFF POWER, RT MANIFOLD PRESS WAS 36" RPM NORMAL & ROUGH RUNNING. INSPECTED THE ENG & FOUND EVIDENCE OF METAL CONTAMINATION. THE RT ENG WAS REMOVED & REPLACED, SENT FOR TEARDOWN ANALYSIS.
AT SCHEDULED INSPECTION, NLG DRAG BRACE, PN 5142002-5, WAS FOUND TO BE CRACKED IN THE AREA OF NLG ACTUATOR ATTACH POINT. METHOD OF INSPECTION WAS DYE PENETRANT. THIS CRACK WAS FOUND TO BE WITHIN ALLOWABLE LIMIT OF MEB91-11R1. THIS UNIT HAS BEEN REPAIRED IAW PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN MEB941-11R1 & RETURNED TO SERVICE.

ON APPROACH, SELECTED GEAR DOWN, NO NOSE GEAR DOWN LOCK INDICATION. BROKE OFF APPROACH, C/W GEAR WILL NOT EXTEND CHECKLIST. DECLARED EMERGENCY, CONTINUED APPROACH, LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MX FOUND NOSE GEAR DOWNLOCK SWITCH OUT OF ADJUSTMENT, ADJUSTED SAME. MX PERFORMED EXTENSION AND RETRACTION SYS TESTS, SYS OK. ACFT RELEASED FOR SERVICE.
PILOT DISCREPANCY OF RIGHT ENGINE DOES NOT SPIN ON START. AIRCRAFT WAS AT GATE IN SJU. MAINTENANCE FOUND A STARTER ADAPTER GEAR TOOTH AND ENGINE START GEAR TOOTH FAILURE. MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED THE ENGINE.
AVIONIC MASTER SWITCH INOPERATIVE DATE CODE 0633. REMOVED AND REPLACED INOPERATIVE SWITCH WITH NEW SWITCH DATE CODED 0633.
CREW REPORTED AVIONICS MASTER SWITCH INOP. MX CHANGED CIRCUIT BREAKER SWITCH MFG DATE CODE 0527.
DURING PRE-OILING OF NEWLY INSTALLED TCM REBUILT ENGINE, OIL LEAKED OUT OF EXHAUST TAILPIPE. FOUND OIL POURING FROM TURBINE SHAFT LIKE SEAL WAS NOT INSTALLED.
PILOT REPORTED RT STRUT WAS RIDING LOW. MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED A CRACK APPROXIMATELY 4 INCHES LONG ALONG SIDE THE CAST MARK OR SEAM IN THE UPPER GEAR TRUNNION. DURING DISASSEMBLY, NOTED THE STRUT BARREL WAS ALSO CRACKED. PILOT REPORTED NO UNUSUAL LANDINGS AND THE LANDING GEAR WAS INSPECTED APPROXIMATELY 4 HOURS EARLIER DURING AN ACCEPTANCE INSPECTION OF THE AIRPLANE. NO CRACK WAS NOTED DURING THE INSPECTION.
