PILOT SAW LOSS IN OIL PSI AND MANIFOLD PSI, FEATHERED ENGINE AND LANDED, AFTER INSP, FOUND NR 3 CYLINDER ON RT ENGINE COMING OFF DUE TO STUDS BROKEN, NOT SURE WHICH STUD BROKE FIRST, BUT ONE STUD PROBABLY BROKE WHICH CAUSED EXTRA STRESS ON THE OTHER STUDS CAUSING THEM TO BREAK. REMOVED/ REPLACED ALL STUDS AND THROUGH BOLTS IN CRANKCASE, BECAUSE THIS EVENT IS THE SECOND TIME ON THIS ENG WHERE THE STUDS ON A CYLINDER BROKE. ALL CRANKCASE STUDS SHOULD BE A 100 PERCENT REPLACEMENT ITEM AT OVERHAUL AND LISTED IN SB 240U OR GREATER, THERE IS NO SURE WAY TO CHECK EACH STUD FOR CRACKS IN THE THREADS, WHEN MOUNTED IN THE CASE. THE STUDS ARE NOT THAT EXPENSIVE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED AT O/H. (K)
PILOT REPORTS RT ENGINE WENT INTO FEATHER AND SHUT DOWN DURING FLIGHT, AFTER INSPECTION, FOUND RT GOVERNOR DRIVE GEAR SHEARED FROM GOVERNOR, THE THREE JOINTS THAT ATTACH THE DRIVE GEAR TO THE GOVERNOR HAD BEEN BROKEN OFF ALLOWING GEAR TO COME OUT. AFTER REVIEW OF THE THREE PIECES, IT LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD BEEN PARTIALLY BROKEN FOR A WHILE. (K)
PILOT REPORTED SEEING FIRE ON RT ENGINE, SHUTDOWN ENGINE, LANDED, AFTER INSPECTION FOUND OIL LEAKING AROUND OIL CONVERTER GASKET. THE GASKET WAS INSTALLED NEW IAW SB AND AD AND GASKET WAS FOUND TO BE SOFT AND EDGES WERE PRETRUDING OUT, ALSO FOUND A PIECE OF GASKET BLOWED OUT. POSSIBLY COULD BE SOME GASKETS MARKED WRONG FROM MFG. (K)
PILOT SMELLED STRONG ODOR OF FUEL AND NOTED FUEL DRIPPING FROM BEHIND INSTRUMENT PANEL ONTO COPILOT RUDDER PEDALS. MADE UNEVENTFUL LANDING AT DESTINATION. TRACED LEAK TO FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE HOSE AT FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE. REPLACED HOSE AND STOPPED LEAK. HOSE HAD SMELL, SPLIT, POSSIBLY DUE TO OLD AGE.
