LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND WITH GEAR HANDLE. GEAR LOWERED AND LOCKED WITH EMERGENCY PUMP HANDLE. UPON EXAMINATION FOUND LOWER FITTING ON LEFT INNER GEAR DOOR ACTUATOR CRACKED AND HOSE CHAFED TO BOTTOM FITTING. THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO COME FROM A ACTUATOR HOSE THAT WAS SLIGHTLY TO LONG AND TIRE THAT HAS A LARGER DIAMETER THAN THE TIRES NORMALLY USED. WE ARE CYCLING THE LARGER TIRES OUT OF OUR SYSTEM. AIRCRAFT REPAIRED AND RETURNED TO SERVICE.

DURING INSPECTION THIS AREA WAS LOOKED AT AFTER FINDING OTHER AIRCRAFT WITH THIS CHANNEL CRACKED THE PART WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. IT MAY BE THAT THE CUT OUT NOT BEING. DRESSED TO BELIEVE THE STRESS CAUSED THE PART TO FAIL AS EXTRA STRESS. IS INDUCED FROM THE NOSE GEAR ACTUATOR ATTACH BRACKETS 2 REAR BOLTS COMING THROUGH THE CHANNEL. THIS ALSO SEEMS TO BE FOUND ON AIRFRAMES OVER 35,000 HOURS.

DURING PREINSPECTION RUN, IT WAS NOTED THAT THE ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP PRESSURE WAS LOW AFTER ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE THE DESIRED PRESSURE SETTING WAS NOT OBTAINABLE. TROUBLESHOOTING, IT APPEARS THE RELIEF VALVE IS HUNG UP PUMP WAS REMOVED FROM SERVICE AND SENT OUT FOR REPAIR.

PILOT REPORTED RIGHT HYDRAULIC PUMP FAILED CHECK DURING RUN UP. PUMP WAS REMOVED AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE SHAFT HAD SHEARED. DURING REMOVAL OF THE FITTINGS IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE SMALL PRESSED IN NOZZLE, SPRING AND BALL HAD COME LOOSE WITH THE BALL JAMMING THE PUMP VANES AND CAUSING THE SHAFT TO SHEAR. NOTE: THIS WAS ON THE PRESSURE OUTLET SIDE. THE PUMP WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED.

A NEW DOOR INSTALLED AND AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. SUBMITTER RECOMMENDED THESE HINGES BE STRIPPED OF PAINT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TO FACILITATE PROPER INSPECTION OF THE LARGE INNER RADIUS OF THE HINGE FOR CRACKING. NOTE: BROKEN HINGE PN 47529-32 IS CORRECT. PART IAW AD 80-2605. (X)

IN PREPARATION FOR LANDING, PILOT NOTICED LEFT ENGINE'S RPMS LAGGING THE RIGHT ENGINE. WITH ANY POWER REDUCTIONS, THE LEFT ENGINE'S RPMS LAGGED EVEN FURTHER. THERE WAS NO RESPONSE WHEN THE PROPELLER CONTROL LEVER WAS MOVED TO THE FULL FORWARD POSITION (INCREASE RPM, DECREASE PITCH). ON FINAL APPROACH WHEN THE LEFT ENGINE THROTTLE WAS MOVED TO IDLE, PROPELLER'S BLADES WENT TO THE FULL FEATHERED POSITION. SUBMITTER STATED CAUSE UNDETERMINED AT THIS TIME.

UPON PULLING AIRCRAFT IN HANGAR FOR A SCHEDULED INSPECTION, FOUND THE ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP LEAKING FUEL FROM THE VALVE BODY PARTING FLANGES. PUMP WAS REMOVED FROM SERVICE. SUSPECT CAUSE, THE PARTING HALF FLANGE SCREWS FOR THE VALVE BODY MAY BE IMPROPERLY TORQUED. GASKET MAY BE PINCHED. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH OTHER PUMPS IN THE PAST.
