DISCREPANCY: THE PILOT REPORTED DURING CLIMB OUT FROM KMAF TO KSAT, THAT SMOKE AROSE FROM THE CENTER OF PEDESTAL, NEAR THROTTLE QUADRANT, ADJACENT TO RUDDER AND AILERON TRIM CONTROL WHEELS. THE SMOKE WAS WHITE IN COLOR, ODORLESS AND DID NOT BURN THE EYES. THE PILOT SCANNED PNEUMATICS, ELECTRONICS, AND ENGINES AND INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. THE PILOT REPORTED IT LASTED ABOUT 2 MINUTES AND THEN THE SMOKE WAS CLEARED. THE FLIGHT CONTINUED TO KSAT WITHOUT ANY ISSUE. MAINTENANCE CORRECTIVE ACTION: MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOT AND FOUND 3 DAMAGED WIRES IN CENTER PEDESTAL GROUNDING OUT TO AIRFRAME. MAINTENANCE REPAIRED AND CAPPED THEN STOWED WIRING AS NEEDED. MAINTENANCE PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECKS WITH ALL SYSTEMS FUNCTIONING, NO DEFECTS WAS NOTED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE AND NO SUBSEQUENT ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.
THE PILOT WAS ON APPROACH TO KCRP AND WHEN THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR WAS SELECTED TO THE GEAR DOWN POSITION, THE GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND. THE HANDLE ILLUMINATED RED AND THE LANDING GEAR CONTROL CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPED. THE PILOT RESET THE CIRCUIT BREAKER ONCE AND IT TRIPPED INSTANTLY. THE PILOT FOLLOWING PROCEDURES PERFORMED A MANUAL LANDING GEAR EXTENSION AND RECEIVED (THREE GREEN) GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATIONS THEN LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT IN KCRP. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND IT WAS FERRIED FROM KCRP TO KSAT. MAINTENANCE THEN PLACED AIRCRAFT ON JACKS AND INSPECTED THE LANDING GEAR ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT AND WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE DISCREPANCY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS THEN FERRIED TO KDFW FOR FURTHER TROUBLE SHOOTING AND SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT WILL HAVE TO BE FILED.
DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, THE PILOT NOTICED A STRONG ODOR THAT SMELLED LIKE JET FUEL, FOLLOWED BY A SMALL PUFF OF SMOKE FROM THE LT AIR VENT. THE PILOT DESCENDED BELOW 12,000 FT & PERFORMED CABIN PRESS DUMP. THE PILOT ADVISED ATC OF CONDITION, RETURNED & LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. REMOVED, CLEANED, OPERATIONS CHECK & REINSTALLED CHECK VLVS, RAN LT & RT ENGS, COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. PERFORMED A PRECAUTIONARY INSPECTION OF THE WIRING BEHIND THE LT SIDE FUEL QTY CB PANEL, NO DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED. AN OPERATIONAL CHECK FLIGHT WAS PERFORMED. ALL SYS FUNCTIONED NORMALLY IN FLIGHT, NO REPORTED ODOR OR VISIBLE SMOKE.
DURING APPROACH INTO EKO PILOT SELECTED LG HANDLE DOWN, LG POSITION INDICATOR GREEN LIGHT NR 3 DID NOT ILLUMINATE. AFTER PILOT BRIEFLY TRIED TO TROUBLESHOOT PROBLEM DECIDED TO MANUALLY EXTEND LG, ONCE GEAR WAS EXTENDED PILOT VERIFIED ALL 3 GREEN LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. PILOT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. AFTER LANDING MX TROUBLESHOOTING REVEALED CONNECTOR FOR LG SERVICE VLV PINS CORRODED. MX REPAIRED CONNECTOR BY CLEANING DISCREPANT PINS, & PERFORMING ALL REQUIRED OPERATIONAL CHECKS, SYS CHECKED NORMAL.
DURING APPROACH, PILOT SELECTED GEAR DOWN, AND NOTICE LANDING GEAR INDICATOR DID NOT INDICATE THREE GREEN LIGHTS. PILOT DISCONTINUED APPROACH AND PERFORMED MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION; INDICATOR SHOWED 3 GREEN LIGHTS GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED. PILOT LANDED WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES. ACFT WAS FERRIED WHERE MAINTENANCE FOUND LEAKAGE AROUND DOWN CYLINDER PORT OF HYDRAULIC POWER PACK; MAINTENANCE R & R HYDRAULIC POWER PACK. PERFORMED GROUND GEAR SWINGS IAW MM 32-30-04, OPS CHECKED GOOD, AND PERFORMED OPS CHECK FLIGHT, SYSTEM CHECKED NORMAL.
DURING CRUISE, FLIGHT CREW NOTICED THREE GREEN LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED AFTER SELECTING GEAR DOWN. FLIGHT CREW TRIED TROUBLESHOOTING SYS, ELECTED TO FOLLOW PROCEDURES FOR MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION. PILOT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. AFTER LANDING MAINTENANCE INSPECTED ACFT AND FOUND PC BOARD ON GEAR TIME DELAY PN 114-364086-1, SN 439-D-88 DISCREPANT, R & R PC BOARD WITH NEW UNIT, SN 11140008ICT AND PERFORMED OPS CHECKS IAW MM 32-30-00, SYSTEM CHECKED GOOD.
ON DESCENT INTO KJAC THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HIS LEFT ENGINE POWER LEVER WOULD REDUCE POWER, BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THE LEFT ENGINE WHEN THE PILOT ADVANCED THE LEFT POWER LEVER. THE PILOT SHUT DOWN THE LEFT ENGINE, DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED AT KJAC WITHOUT INCIDENT. CONTRACT MAINTENANCE AT KJAC INSPECTED THE LEFT ENGINE; ALL ENGINE CONTROLS, THROTTLE, PROP AND CONDITION LEVER FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. INSPECTED THE P3 FILTER NO DISCREPANCIES FOUND. BLEW AIR THROUGH THE P3 LINES NO DEBRIS FOUND. GROUND PERFORMANCE RUN COMPLETED ON THE LEFT ENGINE AND THE ENGINE PERFORMED SATISFACTORY. A CHECK FLIGHT WAS COMPLETED AND THE ENGINE PERFORMED SATISFACTORY. NO DISCREPANCIES REPORTED ON SUBSEQUENT FLIGHTS.
APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES AFTER DEPARTURE, THE PILOT REPORTED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT COMING FROM THE CONDITIONED AIR VENTS. THE PILOT SHUTOFF THE LEFT AND RIGHT ENGINE ENVIRONMENTAL BLEED AIR AND DUMPED THE CABIN PRESSURIZATION, SMOKE DISSIPATED. PILOT RETURNED AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE LEFT AND RIGHT ENGINES AND FOUND THE LEFT ENGINE FUEL EPA CAN CHECK VALVE IS STUCK OPEN ALLOWING FUEL TO DRIP INTO THE BLEED AIR SYSTEM WHEN THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. BLEED AIR FEED LINE TO EPA CAN CAPPED OFF FOR FERRY FLIGHT FOR REPAIRS. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE LEFT ENGINE FUEL PURGE VALVE AND FOUND IT LEAKING DURING WET MOTOR CHECK. REPLACED THE LEFT ENGINE FUEL PURGE VALVE. INSPECTED THE EPA CAN CHECK VALVE AND FOUND IT STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. REPLACED THE EPA CAN CHECK VALVE P/N 232A-4BT. GROUND RUN, LEFT ENGINE EPA SYSTEM FUNCTIONAL CHECK WAS SATISFACTORY.
