CAPTAIN NOTICED NR 1 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS. HE INSTRUCTED THE F/O TO MONITOR THE NR 1 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS, THE MASTER WARNING TRIPLE CHIME AND LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING ACCOMPANIED THE OIL PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS. CREW RAN THROUGH CHECKLIST AND ELECTED TO NOT SHUTDOWN THE ENGINE BASED ON OIL PRESSURE AND OIL TEMPERATURE. CREW RETURNED TO DEPARTURE, DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE REMOVED THE LT STARTER GENERATOR BB-AXIS SEAL. THEY FOUND IT TO BE IMPROPERLY SEATED. THEY RESEATED THE LT STARTER GENERATOR BB-AXIS SEAL. LEAK CHECK WAS SATISFACTORY. THE ACFT WAS ALSO FLOWN ON A FUNCTIONAL CK FLIGHT TO VERIFY ANY ISSUES WITH LEAKS. FUNCTIONAL CHECK FLIGHT WAS SATISFACTORY. ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THE ACFT HAD JUST LT A MAINTENANCE INSPECTION. BOTH ENGINE STARTER GENERATOR BB-AXIS SEALS HAD BEEN WORKED DUE TO OIL LEAKAGE. BOTH ENGINES WERE LEAK CHECKED AND NO LEAKS WERE NOTED AT THAT TIME.
RT TAIL PIPE HOT LIGHT ILLUM FOR 1 SEC PER CREW DURING TAKEOFF. LIGHT WENT OFF A SECOND LATER WITH NO OTHER INDICATION. WEATHER WAS HEAVY RAIN. REMOVED AND REPLACED RT TAIL PIPE, OPS CHECK GOOD.

INITIAL TAKEOFF ROLL AT 40 KTS, PILOT REPORTED ABNORNAL POWER INDICATION (RIGHT ENG TORQUE SHOT UP HIGHER THAN EXPECTED AT LEVER ANGLE AND POWER WENT TO 1200 BUT NO POWER FELT). ABORTED THE TAKEOFF AND RETURNED TO GATE. ADJUSTED POWER LEVER CABLE AT PCU LENGTHENED 1 TURN PER SAAB AMM 76-10-00-05, OPS CHECKED GOOD.
AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF FROM ALB AND WHILE CLIMBING THROUGH 5000 FT A "TAILPIPE HOT" WARNING ILLUMINATED ON THE CWP. PILOT FOLLOWED HIS CHECKLIST WHICH CALLED FOR THE FIRST REDUCING POWER AND OBSERVING IF LIGHT WOULD GO OUT. SINCE THE LIGHT REMAINING ILLUMINATED, ENGINE SHUT DOWN, AND AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO ALB FOR AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING. PILOT WRITE-UP STATED "TAILPIPE HOT LIGHT ILLUMINATED IN FLIGHT. PERFORMED QRC AND QRH RESULTING IN PRECAUTIONARY ENGINE SHUT DOWN. ALB MAINTENANCE FOUND A CHAFED WIRE NEAR CONNECTOR 162VP. ALB SIGNOFF READS AS FOLLOWS: REPAIRED WIRES TO CONNECTOR 162VP IAW SAAB WM 20-20-35. OPS CHECKED GOOD IAW SAAB AMM 26-11-00. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED TO SERVICE.
THE RIGHT ENGINE INTAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND WOULD NOT RESET. THE FLIGHT WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE TO BOS DUE TO THE EN ROUTE WEATHER. REMOVED AND REPLACED RT LOWER DUCT.
PILOT LOGBOOK ENTRY "AIRCRAFT YAWS VIOLENTLY TO RIGHT UPON LANDING. AIRCRAFT FERRIED FROM ACK TO ALB MAINTENANCE BASE. INSPECTOR AT ALB PERFORMED GROUND RUNS OF BOTH ENGINES AND FOUND NO ABNORMALITIES. OVERNIGHT MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE LEFT PROPELLER CONTROL UNIT AND GROUND OPERATIONAL / LEAK CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY. AN OPERATIONAL CHECK FLIGHT WAS PERFORMED SUBSEQUENT TO THE PROPELLER CONTROL UNIT CHANGE AND THE CREW SIGNED OFF THE OCF AS SATISFACTORY. WHEN QUESTIONED BY INSPECTOR FOLLOWING OCF, CHECK PILOT STATED THAT THE FLIGHT AND LANDING WAS CONSISTENT WITH OTHER SAABS.
SMOKE IN CABIN, RETURN TO AUG, PBE AND HALON FIRE EXTINGUISHER USED. THIS AIRCRAFT WAS THEN INSPECTED BY MAINTENANCE PERSONAL, A BALLAST WAS REMOVED AT ROW 9F, CONNECTORS STOWED, AND WINDOW LIGHTS CB F24 WAS PULLED AND COLLARED, AND FERRIED TO ALB FOR REPAIRS. ALB MAINTENANCE REPLACED BALLAST AT ROW 9F AND FOUND CONNECTOR 426VP-P1 SHORTED AND MELTED. REPLACED PLUG; ALSO FOUND CONNECTOR 426VP-J1 SHORTED AT PINS 23 AND 24, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. BALLAST WAS CONSIDERED BY MECHANIC TO BE THE ROOT CAUSE.
AIRCRAFT REQUIRES MAJOR REPAIR FOR PERMANENT REPAIR OF PULLED RIVETS ON RT INBOARD NACELLE AT STA 203 IAW TD 340-54-09-15.
AVIONICS SPOKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. RE-RACKED CONNECTOR AND CLEANED CONNECTION. OPS CHECK GOOD PER 26-20-00.
ALL EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON, POWER SUPPLY DRAINED. (K)
HYDRAULIC QUANTITY AT RED LINE, EMERGENCY DECLARED. SERVICED HYD SYS TO FULL, NO VISIBLE LEAKS NOTED. CYCLED PARKING BRAKE, NORMAL BRAKES AND FLAPS SEVERAL TIMES, NO LEAKS NOTED, NO CHANGE IN HYD QUANTITY NOTED.
PUSHER DISARM LIGHT ILLUMINATED. RESET PUSHER DISARM SWITCH. OPS CHECK GOOD OK FOR SERVICE.
FOUND PUSHER DISARM LIGHT ILLUMINATED. RESET PUSHER DISARM SWITCH, OPS CHECK GOOD. NO FAULTS NOTED AT THIS TIME IAW SAMM 27-35-00.
FOUND EMERGENCY FLOOR PAX LIGHT SYSTEM HAS TWO BULBS BURNT OUT AT ROW 2 AND ROW 11. REMOVED AND REPLACED BULBS AT SEATS 2,11 IAW 33-50-20, PN OFF/ON 3071BPEGPL. OPS CHECK GOOD.
CEILING EMERGENCY LIGHT AT ROW 4DF, AND EMERGENCY FLOOR LIGHTS AT ROW 10 INOP. RELAMPED EMERGENCY LIGHT IAW AMM 33-50-10, PN: 1317. RELAMPED FLOOR EMERG LIGHT ROW 10, PN: 3071BPEGPC.
RT ENGINE OIL LIGHT, CREW SHUT DOWN ENGINE. FOUND PGB OIL LOW AND OIL AROUND AC GENERATOR, REMOVED AC GEN FOUND O-RING COCKED. REMOVED AND REPLACED O-RING, OPS AND LEAK CHECK GOOD.
SMELL OF BURNING WIRES DURING START. INSPECTED BOTH BATTERY COMPARTMENTS, INTERIOR LIGHTS FOR SHORTS, AC PACKS FOR OBVIOUS DAMAGE AND FORWARD ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT FOR OBVIOUS DAMAGE OR EVIDENCE OF ELECTRICAL SPARKS. THIS A/C HAS BEEN INSPECTED FOR THE PURPOSE OF A FERRY FLIGHT AND DETERMINED TO BE SAFE FOR FLIGHT FROM LGA TO ALB. LEFT A/C PACK DMI'ED.
DURING OPERATIONAL CHECK OF EMERGENCY LIGHT SYSTEM, TWO FLOOR PROXIMITY LIGHTS WERE INOPERATIVE. REPLACED EMERGENCY LIGHT POWER SUPPLY 24LN
AT 5 TO 6 MINUTES IN FLIGHT OIL PRESSURE FLUCUATED. STARTED SMALL AND INCREASED, OIL PRESSURE DROPPED. SHUTDOWN ENGINE WHEN CLOSE TO 0, OIL TEMP STILL IN GREEN.
SMOKE FILLED COCKPIT AND CABIN IN FLIGHT LAV SMOKE ANNUNCIATOR ILLUMINATED. AIRCRAFT MADE UNSCHEDULED LANDING, FOUND RIGHT ACM TURBINE SIEZED. RAN AIRCRAFT TO VERIFY NO FURTHER TRACES OF SMOKE, DEFERRED PER MEL RIGHT AIR CONDITIONING PACK 21-50-1 CAT C.
