NOTED VENT DOOR IN OPEN POSITION AND A 3/8" GAP AT THE TOP OF THE MAIN DOOR BETWEEN THE FRAME AND FUSELAGE, INDICATING AN IMPROPER PREVIOUS LOCKING ATTEMPT. SUCCESSFULLY GAINED ENTRY BY APPLYING INWARD PRESSURE AT THE TOP OF THE DOOR TO ALIGN IT FLUSH WITH THE FUSELAGE, ALLOWING THE REMAINING HANDLE SEGMENT TO ROTATE AND RELEASE THE LATCHES. REF TO AMM 52-14-00.REMOVED MAIN DOOR EXTERNAL HANDLE ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLED CUSTOMER PROVIDED NEW EXTERNAL DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY NO FAULTS NOTED. OPS CHKD GOOD. IAW AMM 52-11-24

WHILE ON CLIMB OUT WE NOTICED A BURNING SMELL IN THE FLIGHT DECK ACCOMPANIED BY HIGH COCKPIT TEMPERATURE. SHORTLY AFTER WE RECEIVED THE DUCT 1 OVERTEMP YELLOW CAS MESSAGE. THE ECS SYSTEM SYNOPTIC PAGE SHOWED A YELLOW HX VALUE FOR THE LEFT SIDE AT 320°F. WE ACCOMPLISHED THE QRH PROCEDURE BUT THE CAS MESSAGE NEVER CLEARED IN THE ONE MINUTE ALLOTMENT DURING EACH QRH DECISION TREE. DUE TO THE BURNING ODOR REPORTED BY PILOTS, MCC REQUESTS THAT COCKPIT TEMP MODULATING VALVE BE REPLACED. REMOVED TEMP MODULATING VALVE & INSTALLED REPAIRED TEMPERATURE MODULATING VALVE P/N 1300330-11 S/N 1041. PERFORMED OPS CHECK, OPS CHECK OK. OBSERVED NO BURNT OR ABNORMAL SMELL. REF AMM 21-61-02.

MAIN PAX DOOR WARNING ILLUMINATED SEVERAL TIMES DURING FLIGHT SPOKE WITH PILOTS AND RECREATED THE BINDING. THE SUPPORT STRUT WAS CREATING A CHATTER NOISE BUT WAS NOT CAUSING THE DOOR TO OPERATE IMPROPERLY. WAITED FOR AIRCRAFT TO COME INTO HANGER TO FURTHER EVALUATE. ONCE IN HANGER ONLY AFTER MULTIPLE TIMES OPERATING THE DOOR A CHATTER NOISE WAS HEARD. EVALUATED THE SUPPORT STRUT AND FOUND DEBRIS ON THE STRUT. CLEANED THE STRUT AND DID OPS CHECKS AGAIN NO CHATTERING/ BINDING WAS FOUND AND DOOR OPERATED AS IT SHOULD. PERFORMED 5 MORE OPS CHECKS OF THE DOOR AND DOOR OPS CHECKS GOOD. WORK DONE IAW AMM 20-00-00, & 52-10-00.

OPS CHECKED ONCE BATTERIES WERE FULLY RECHARGED AND ISSUE WAS NOT PRESENT. (PERFORMED OPERATION TWICE OPS CHECK GOOD, NO FLASHING LIGHTS.

COMPLIED WITH VISUAL INSPECTION OF WHEEL SPEED TRANSDUCER, NO DEFECTS NOTED IAW WITH MM CH. 32-42-00. PERFORMED BRAKE OPS TAXI CHECK. NO DEFECTS NOTED.
