PILOT AND CREW SMELLED JET FUEL, SOON AFTER THE AIRCRAFT LOST PARTIAL POWER. MAINTENANCE FOUND THAT THE THREADS ON THE IGNITION SOLENOID VALVE/PURGE VALVE WERE DISTORTED AND LETTING FUEL PASS AROUND THE PACKING. UNIT WAS REPLACED WITH NEW PART.
