ON 2ND RETRACT MOTOR STARTED SMOKING. INSTALLED OVERHAULED MOTOR AND GEAR CYCLED WITHOUT FURTHER DEFECTS. NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE TO MOTOR. APPEARS TO BE INTERNAL FAILURE.
