WHEN AIRCRAFT L AND R BATTERIES ARE THEN TURNED ON, AND ALSO WHEN APU IS ON AND APU GENERATOR IS ON , ALL EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR, EMERGENCY LIGHTS THEN BECOME ILLUMINATED AND FUNCTION PROPERLY. REMOVED AND REPLACED #4 EMERGENCY LIGHTING BATTERY PACK IAW CE-680 AMM 33-50-10. CHARGED BATTERY PACK OPS CHECK SATISFACTORY.

EMERGENCY LIGHT OVER GALLEY COUNTERTOP WHICH ILLUMINATES THE MAIN CABIN DOOR INOP DURING PREFLIGHT CHECKS. WITH CREW ONBOARD, VERIFIED GALLEY EMERGENCY LIGHT TURNED ON WITH APU RUNNING. ADVISE TO SHUTDOWN APU IN ORDERTO GVI LAMP. SHUTDOWN APU, GVI LAMP CONTACTS, NO DEFECTS NOTED, REINSTALLED LAMP. WITH NO POWER TO AIRCRAFT OPS CHECKS EMERGENCY LIGHTS CHECKS GOOD IAW CE680 AMM 33-50-01. VERIFIED WITH CREW APU RUNNING FOR SOME TIME AND BATTERY CHARGED. CREW IS SATISFIED WITH OPS CHECKS. MCC NOTIFIED NO FURTHER ACTION NEEDED.
AVIONICS ACCESS DOOR: RIGHT AFT NOSE DOOR MECHANICAL LATCH OPENED AT ABOUT 7000 FEET DURING CLIMB //SIGNOFF// REMOVED COVER FOR WIRING HARNESS AND FOUND BROKEN WIRE. REPAIRED BROKEN WIRE AND OPS CHECK DOOR LATCHES AND OPS CHECK GOOD. CHECKED AN VERIFIED OPERATION OF ALL NOSE DOOR LATCHES AND NO ISSUES FOUND. REINSTALLED LATCH HARNESS COVER. CHECKED AND VERIFIED ALL LATCHES LATCH AND STAY LATCHED AS THEY SHOULD ALL WORK WAS DONE IN REF TO CE-680 AMM 52-70-00
EMERG EXIT SIGN/LIGHT: FORWARD FACING EMERGENCY EXIT SIGN LIGHT ON BULKHEAD ABOVE SEAT 9 HEADREST IS INOPERATIVE.// SIGNOFF// UPON INSPECTION, FOUND THE PIN ON ONE OF THE PIN SPLICES TO THE EMERGENCY EXIT SIGN ON THE FWD FACING LH LAV PARTITION TO BE LOOSE, CAUING THE LIGHT TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. RE-PINNED THE WIRE AND PERFORMED OPS CHECK OF THE EMGERENCY LIGHT. OPS CHECK GOOD. ALL WORK ACCOMPLISHED REF. CE680 SPM 20-30-25.
NLG LANDING GEAR UNLOCK LIGHT: ON GEAR EXTENSION WE HAD 3 GREEN DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATIONS BUT ALSO HAD THE GEAR UNSAFE HORN. WE ELECTED TO GO AROUND. ON RETRACTING THE GEAR WE HAD THE RED UNLOCK LIGHT REMAIN ON. ON SUBSEQUENT GEAR EXTENSION WE HAD MAIN GEAR GREEN DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATIONS, NOSE GEAR BLANK AND THE RED GEAR UNLOCK LIGHT ON. WE PULLED THE GEAR BLOW DOWN HANDLE PER QRH AND STILL HAD TWO MAIN GREEN LIGHTS, BLANK NOSE GEAR, AND RED UNLOCK INDICATIONS. WE PULLED THE NG D RING HANDLE PER THE QRH AND STILL HAD THE SAME INDICATIONS.///SIGN-OFF///FOUND NLG HARNESS CANNON PLUG DISCONNECTED. RECONNECTED AND GOT 3 GREENS IN THE COCKPIT. DUE TO THE BOTTLE DISCHARGE C/W SOVEREIGN 680 AMM 32-00-00. OPS CHECK GOOD.
LEFT SIDE INTERIOR, EXTERIOR MAIN CABIN DOOR ENTRANCE, AND RIGHT WING LANDING EMERGENCY LIGHTS ARE INOPERATIVE. THE LIGHTS DO NOT EVEN ILLUMINATE WHEN THE MAIN BATTERIES ARE ON AND THE EMER LIGHT SWITCH IS ON. // SIGNOFF// VERIFIED CONNECTIONS TO EMER BATT PACKS SECURE, CONNECTIONS GOOD. ACCOMOPLISHED OPERATIONAL TEST OF EMERGENCY LIGHT AND FOUND OPERATIONAL TEST SATISFACTORY. COULD NOT DUPLICATE DISCREPANCY. THE AIRCRAFT AT THE TIME OF REPAIR HAD 11,846.4 FLIGHT HOURS AND 7834 FLIGHT CYCLES. RIGHT UPPER COWL OUTBOARD AREA HAS HOLE THROUGH INNER LAYERS OF COMPOSITE INTO CORE MATERIAL AND MINOR CHAFFING MARKS ADJACENT TO THE PUNCTURE.
PRIOR TO ENGINE START, NR 2 DISPLAY UNIT STARTED FLASHING ON AND OFF RAPIDLY. AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS A STRONG ELECTRICAL BURNING ODOR WAS APPARENT IN COCKPIT. ODOR WENT AWAY WHEN EICAS SWITCH SELECTED OFF. REMOVED FAULTY DISPLAY UNIT AND INSTALLED REPAIRED UNIT IAW AMM 34-23-00 REV 11. OPS CHECKED SATISFACTORY IAW AMM 34-23-10 REV 17.
UNABLE TO CONTROL ENVIRONMENTAL TEMPS IN ANY CONFIGURATION. HOLDING FOR TAKEOFF, CABIN & COCKPIT BECAME WARM. SELECTED MANUAL DID NOT ALLOW TEMP TO BE CONTROLLED. SELECTED APU BLEED AIR ON. SUPPLY TEMP STARTED TO RISE. A PUFF OF SMOKE FROM COPILOTS GASPER & ELECTRICAL BURNING ODOR SENSED IN COCKPIT. TURNED OFF COCKPIT RECIRC FAN, LT & RT ENGINE BLEEDS & APU BLEED AIR & RETURNED TO RAMP. SHUTDOWN, SELECTED APU BLEED AIR ON & TEMP ROSE ABOVE 250 DEGREES & CONTIUED TO RISE. E2 DISPLAYED ON AUTO TEMP CONTROL LED. WITH COCKPIT RECIRC FAN ON, A LOUD NOISE CAN BE HEARD IN COCKPIT. FOUND ECU COOLING TURBINE SEIZED. REPLACED COOLING TURBINE IAW MM 21-51-00. OPS AND LEAK CHECKED GOOD.
ON APPROACH, GEAR SELECTED DOWN AND NO LEFT MAIN GEAR GREEN LIIGHT OBSERVED. COMPLETED M1 GEAR NOT IN LANDING POSITION CHECKLIST. GEAR HORN OBSERVED, ROTARY TEST WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE LT GEAR LIGHT. LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. NO LEFT DOWNLOCK LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DURING ROTARY TEST NO LT LIGHT ILLUMINATED. REMOVED LAMPS ON ALL LANDING GEAR LIGHTS AND INSTALLED NEW LAMPS IAW MM 33-10-00. ALL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. COMPLETED GEAR CYCLES WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED IN LEN OR LIGHTS.
STREAM OF WHITE SMOKE WAS SEEN EMANATING FROM UNDERSIDE OF RT ENGINE AFTER START. NO FIRE INDICATION. R & R RT ALTERNATOR IAW MM 24-20-10 ALTERNATOR OPS CHECK GOOD. FOUND ALTERNATOR WINDINGS BURNED. REMOVED RT ALTERNATOR, INSTALLED ALTERNATOR IAW MM 24-20-10. ALTERNATOR OPS CHECKED GOOD.
ON APPROACH, GEAR APPEARED TO EXTEND NORMALLY, DISPLAYING 3 GREEN LIGHTS. ATTEMPTED TO EXTEND FLAPS TO 35, GEAR UNSAFE HORN SOUNDED. RETRACTED FLAPS TO 15 AND HORN STOPPED. REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES. USED THE PNEUMATIC GEAR EXTENSION SYSTEM, AND THEN THE FLAPS EXTENDED TO 35 WITH NO GEAR HORN. JACKED ACFT, BLEED HYD SYS IAW MM 12-12-02, REV 19 SERVICED HYD SYS, PERFORMED GEAR BLOWDOWN & DUMP VALVE TEST IAW MM 32-00-00, REV 19, SERVICED NITROGEN SYS, INSPECTED NLG & MLG WIRE HARNESS, NO DAMAGE NOTED, CHECKED NLG & MLG DOWNLOCK SWITCHES WITH CDMS PERFORMED LANDING GEAR AURAL WARNING TEST IAW CES-FT-680-0009, CHECKED GOOD, INSPECTED LANDING GEAR 1& 2 PCB'S, NO DAMAGE NOTED, CLEANED PCB'S. PERFORMED LANDING GEAR TEST IAW MM 32-00-00, REV 19. ALL CHECKED GOOD.
WHILE ON THE GROUND, ACFT FILLED WITH SMOKE WHEN APU BLEED WAS SELECTED ON. SMOKE APPEARED TO COME THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM. FOUND APU OIL OVER SERVICED. SERVICED TO PROPER LEVEL IAW MM 12-11-03. CLEANED WATER SEPARATOR AND SOCK MM 21-50-00. REMOVED AND CLEANED APU GEAR BOX VENT TUBE MM 49-20-00. REINSTALLED TUBE. RAN APU WITH BLEED AIR ON FOR 1 HR WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED.
AMBER FLAPS FAIL CAS MESSAGE. FLAPS WOULD NOT RESET. FLAPS INDICATING AT 7 DEGREES. R & R SWITCH OPS CHECKED GOOD RESTORED PEDESTAL AND OPS CHECKED. ALL WORK IAW MM 27-51-00.
LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT RETRACT AFTER TAKEOFF. WHEN GEAR WAS SELCTED UP NOSE GEAR REMAINED DOWN WITH GREEN NOSE GEAR LIGHT AND RED UNLOCKED LIGHT ILLUMINATED. R & R NLG ACTUATOR.
DURING REPLACEMENT OF RUDDER HINGE BRACKETS ON VERTICAL STABILIZERS REAR SPAR, EXFOLIATION CORROSION WAS FOUND ON THE LOWER BRACKET (P/N: 6931050-10) OF THE UPPER RUDDER HINGE POINT, LOWER BRACKET (P/N: 6931050-12) & UPPER BRACKET (P/N: 6931050-11) OF THE MIDDLE RUDDER HINGE POINT. ALSO NOTED EXFOLIATION CORROSION ON VERTICAL STAB AFT SPAR STIFFENER (P/N: 6931012-22) AT APPROXIMATE WL 190.763, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF STIFFENER.
AMBER (ROLL SYSTEM CONTROL FAULT) APPEARED SEVERAL TIMES ON DESCENT, WITH AUTOPILOT ON AND OFF. TESTED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT DUPLICATING THE DISCREPANCY. VIEWED MAINTENANCE DIAGNOSTICS AND FOUND FIVE OCCURENCES OF THE "ROLL SYSTEM CONTROL FAULT" DURING ONE LEG OF FLIGHT. NONE OF THESE MESSAGES CORRELATED TO A HARDWARE FAILURE. RETURNED AIRCRAFT TO AN AIRWORTHY CONDITION.
UPON APPLIED BRAKES A/C PULL TO THE LT. AT SHUTDOWN, LT INSIDE BRAKE WAS SMOKING AND VERY HOT. TAXI TIME WAS GREATER THAN 5 MIN. BRAKES DID NOT PULL AT TAXI SPEED. INSPECTED BRAKES. NO DEFECTS NOTED. TAXIED AIRCRAFT. FOUND BRAKE SYSTEM TO BE OPERATING NORMAL. UNABLE TO DUPLICATE DISCREPANCY. NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED. WORK PERFORMED I.A.W. CHAPTER 32-41-00 OF THE CITATION 60 MM.
