AT FL450 ACTIVATED THE SPOILERS THEY CAME OUT THEN RETRACTED RIGHT AWAY. RECEIVED GRND SPLR FAIL CAS MESSAGE AND SPOILER FAULT CAS PERFORMED FIM TASK 27-66-00. PERFORMED MULTIPLE F/T OF SPOILER SYSTEM WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. PER CUSTOMER REQUEST REPOSITIONED LT AND RT FCE. LT FCE NOW P/N 462900-1017 S/N 1199. RT FCE NOW 462900-1017 S/N 1200. PERFORMED FLAP SYSTEM RIGGING WITH REF TO MM 27-50-00. PERFORMED SPOILER SYSTEM RIGGING WITH REF TO MM 27-60-00. ALL SUBSEQUENT OPS CHECKS SATISFACTORY.
ON ADVANCING THRUST LEVERS, CREW FELT A VIBRATION COMING FROM NR 2 ENGINE, AT THE SAME TIME A TRIPLE CHIME OF "E2 LOW N1". TAKEOFF ABORTED JUST BEFORE 80 KNOTS & TAXIED A SHORT DISTANCE TO J INTERSECTION. AFTER TAKEOFF ABORTED TRIPLE CHIME MESSAGE WENT AWAY & "E2 NO DISP" REMAINED ON. AFTER EXITING RUNWAY NR 2 ENGINE SHUTDOWN. WHEN MZ ARRIVED THEY SAW THE ATS ACCESS DOOR BLOWN OPEN & FOUND METAL SHAVINGS IN THE TAIL PIPE. MAINTENANCE STARTED THE NR 2 ENGINE & NOTICED THERE WAS NO N1 IND & SHUT IT DOWN. MX INSPECTED ENGINE & FOUND IT WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. R/R NR 2 ENGINE. LEAKS AND OPS CHECKS GOOD.
CREW REPORTED PFD FAILURE AND POPPED C/B TO F30 ELECT BAY COOLING. CREW DECIDED TO RETURN TO FIELD. PFP OPS CHECK GOOD. CLEANED DEBRIS FROM COOLING FAN.
