NR 4 CYLINDER'S CONNECTING ROD END CAP SEPARATED FROM CONNECTING ROD. INSPECTION OF ENGINE REVEALED THAT 1 OF THE 2 ATTACHMENT NUTS THAT SECURES END CAP TO CONNECTING ROD CRACKED INTO 4 PIECES ALLOWING END CAP TO STOP SECURING CONNECTING ROD TO CRANKSHAFT. CONNECTING ROD WAS FOUND INTACT. END CAP WAS FOUND IN 3 SEPARATE SECTIONS WITH 2 OF THE SECTIONS RETAINING LOWER HALVES OF ATTACHMENT BOLTS.

UPON INSPECTION OF LANDING GEAR SYSTEM, THE NOSE GEAR DOOR BELLCRANK WAS FOUND CRACKED AT LEFT DOOR EAR. THE NOSE GEAR DOORS WERE IMPROPERLY RIGGED CAUSING EXCESIVE STRESS ON BELLCRANK.

DURING FLIGHT AT 10,000 MSL, PILOT NOTICED THAT OIL PRESSURE ON RIGHT ENGINE WAS DROPPING SLOWLY AND OIL TEMP WAS RISING SLOWLY FOLLOWED SHORTLY BY A COMPLETE LOSS OF MANIFOLD PRESSURE. THE PILOT TOOK PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AND SHUT DOWN ENGINE. HE CONTINUED ON AND MADE AN UNEVENTFUL SINGLE ENGINE LANDING. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FOUND THE WASTEGATE ACTUATOR FAILED AND ALL THE ENGINE OIL WAS DUMPED. INSPECTION REVEALED THE SEAL INSIDE THE ACTUATOR WAS BAD. AN OVERHAUL OF THE COMPLETE ASSY REPAIRED THE PROBLEMS. NO KNOWN CAUSE FOR SEAL FAILURE.

PILOT REPORTED NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT COME DOWN AND LOCK. A NOSE GEAR UP LANDING WAS MADE. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE FORWARD LT NOSE GEAR GOOD RETRACTION ROD BRACKET ASSY FAILED ALLOWING THE NOSE GEAR TO IMPACT DOOR ON RETRACTION AND JAMMING NOSE GEAR IN WHEEL WELL. REASON FOR BRACKET FAILURE IS NOT CONCLUSIVE AT THIS TIME.
