AFTER TURNING THE BATTERIES AND THE EMER LIGHTS BACK ON, THEY CONTINUED TO FLICKER. INTERIOR AS WELL AS EXTERIOR OVER THE WING LIGHTS EMER LIGHTS. REMOVED FAULTY AFT EMERGENCY BATTERY AND REPLACED WITH A NEW UNIT. REPLACED FORWARD EMERGENEY BATTERY AS ADVISED BY MCC FOR BATTERY TRACKING AS A PAIR. FORWARD BATTERY WAS REPLACED WITH REPAIRED UNIT. PERFORMED 90 MINUTE CHARGE ON BATTERIES. PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM. OPS CHECK GOOD. ALL ACCESS WAS CLOSED. WORK COMPLETED IAW AMM 33-52-01

MCC REQUESTED TO RUN AIRCRAFT & RAN VCS TO VERIFY NO SMELL COMING FROM GASPERS WITH VCS RUNNING. RAN LH AND RH ENGINES, ENGAGED VCS. RAN VCS SYSTEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. INSTALLED AFT LAV CLOSEOUT PANELS.

THE ELEVATOR WAS RE-IDENTIFIED TO PART NUMBER 505-11082-601, AS PER SB INSTRUCTIONS. WE ALSO NOTED THE FOLLOWING RT ELEVATOR MASS BALANCE WEIGHTS BELOW TOLERANCE: ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTS PART NUMBER PE915109-L33 (7 EACH BELOW MINIMUM OF 84G); HORN MASS WEIGHT PART NUMBER PE915109-L42 (1 EACH BELOW MINIMUM OF 1095G). FOUND ODOR TO BE SIMILAR TO THE OPERATION OF A NEW TOASTER. OPERATED LT AND RT ENGINE THREE TIMES AT THIRTY MINUTES EACH TIME AT VARIOUS POWER SETTINGS, ODOR HAD DISAPATED AND WAS ELIMINATED AT THE MIDDLE OF THE SECOND ENGINE RUN. OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS FOUND TO BE SATISFACTORY. ACCOMPLISHED IAW MM 36-10-00.

AFTER ENGINES WERE SHUTDOWN AND EXT POWER CONNECTED, THE FREON SYS WAS ENERGIZED. NO FUMES PRESENT. RAN ACFT WITH ONE ENG AT A TIME AND COULD NOT GET ANY ODOR OF FUMES. INSPECTED BOTH ENG EXHAUST FOR OIL LEAKAGE, INSPECTED THE ACM FOR OIL EVIDENCE AT JOINTS AND INSPECTED ACM OIL BOWL. NO LEAKS OF OIL ON ENG EXHAUST OR ACM DUCTS AND ACM OIL LEVEL WAS GOOD. CONTACTED LMCC AND THEY REQUESTED TO CHECK THE ACM WATER SOCK THEN RUN THE ENGINES AGAIN. REMOVED THE WATER SOCK AND IT WAS GOOD. WASHED WATER SOCK WITH DISH DETERGENT AND REPLACED ON TO THE WATER SEPARATOR. RAN ENGINES AGAIN WITH NO ODOR OF FUMES. OPS CHECK WAS GOOD. ALL WORK DONE IAW MM CHAP 21-51-00

PERFORMED ANTI-SKID WIRING CHECK TROUBLESHOOTING SHEET. ALL READING CHECK GOOD. ALL OPERATION CHECK GOOD THROUGH ALL TESTS. ALL WORK DONE IAW MM 32-42-00. MEASURED DRIVE CLIP GAP PRIOR TO INSTALLING HUBCAPS AND FOUND BOTH LT AND RT TO HAVE A GAP LARGER THAN SPECIFIED. ADJUSTED CLIPS AS NECESSARY. TAXIED ACFT AND ALL BRAKE OPERATIONS NORMAL ON POST RUN.

PERFORMED ANTI-SKID WIRING CHECK AND FOUND SHIELDING FOR LT WHEEL SPEED TRANSDUCER HARNESS WAS NOT CORRECTLY GROUNDED, REPAIRED DEFECTIVE WIRING IAW WM 32-40-01. ALL ITEMS CHECK GOOD ON THE ANTI-SKID WIRING CHECKLIST. OPERATOR IS SHIPPING A (SKID CONTROL MOTOR RELAY KN002) AND WANT IT REPLACED. ARRIVES AT 8:30 8/27. REMOVED AND REPLACED RELAY KN002 IAW WDM CH 32-40-01. GROUND CHECKS GOOD.
