Maintenance disclosures
DURING ENGINE SHUTDOWN PILOT MOVED THROTTLE TO CUTOFF AND THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. SECOND ATTEMPT WAS MADE WITH SAME RESPONSE. PILOT NOTED NG SLOWLY INCREASED TO 63% AND IMMEDIATELY SHUTDOWN ENGINE USING FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE SWITCH. MAINT NOTED THAT THROTTLE LINKAGE HAD BROKEN.
DURING CLIMB FROM FCN, ENGINE CHIP LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO FCN. METAL CHIPS WERE FOUND ON PLUG. REPLACED ENGINE.
ON APPROACH TO FCN, NG INDICATOR STARTED TO FLUCTUATE FROM ZERO TO FULL SCALE ON THE INDICATOR. ALL OTHER READINGS WERE NORMAL. PILOT ELECTED TO RETURN TO GNO FOR MAINT.
PRIOR TO DEPARTURE, EMERGENCY FLOAT SYS WAS ARMED. AFTER DEPARTURE PILOT CLIMBED TO 500FT AND EMERGENCY FLOAT SYS UNEXPECTEDLY DEPLOYED, CONTINUED FLIGHT TO LOOP TERMINAL, AT 60 KTS AND LANDED. UPON INSPECTION BY MX PERSONNEL, POWER WIRE FOR FLOAT SYS WAS FOUND CHAFED.
NR 1 NOZZLE DIAPHRAM BACKED OFF. INSTALLED NEW AT .835", CURRENT DIMENSION .802. FOUND TO BE CAUSE FOR LOW POWER.
FOUND MAJOR SEAL OF REAR COMPRESSOR SUPPORT ERODED AND FLAKING CAUSING VENT PROBLEMS.
FOUND XPT COATING OF SHROUD HOUSING MISSING CAUSING DECREASE IN POWER.
IMPELLER NR 1 BEARING STUB SHAFT HAS EXCESSIVE WEAR FROM MATING RING.
