Part: SKIN — CORRODED (RT WING LE)

RIGHT WING DEICE BOOT WAS REMOVED FOR REPLACEMENT. WING SKIN WAS FOUND TO HAVE EXCESSIVE CORROSION PITS ON MUCH OF THE SKIN. DAMAGE ALLOWANCE IS ONLY 15 PERCENT OF .032 INCH SKIN THICKNESS. LEADING EDGE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPAIRED. THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE FOUND BY FEELING SURFACE OF DEICE BOOTS FOR LUMPS UNDERNEATH. DEICE BOOT INSTALLATION DATE AND TIME UNKNOWN.

Part: LOGIC BOX — MALFUNCTION (MLG ANNUNCIATOR)

UPON APPROACH, PILOT SELECTED GEAR DOWN. GEAR CAME DOWN, THREE GREEN LIGHTS CAME ON, RED GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND MANY ANNUNCIATOR WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. PILOT ELECTED TO BLOW GEAR DOWN, AND AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS MADE. TROUBLESHOT MALFUNCTION TO ANNOUNCE LOGIC BOX RESISTOR R26 WAS FOUND OPEN. IT IS SUSPECTED THAT THE RESISTOR WENT TO LOW OHMS BEFORE GOING OPEN CAUSING ALL NEGATIVE SEEKING LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE, INCLUDING GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT.
