ON APPROACH TO KAPF AND UPON SELECTING GEAR DOWN, CREW RECEIVED 'NOSE GEAR NOT DOWN' AND 'L-R MAIN GEAR NOT DOWN CAS' MESSAGE, FOLLOWED BY A 'L HYDRAULIC QUANTITY LOW CAS' MESSAGE. COMPLETED THE LANDING GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND CHECKLIST, THAT INSTRUCTED TO USE THE EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURE, AND RECEIVED A SUCCESSFUL GEAR EXTENSION INDICATION. CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND PERFORMED AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING. AIRCRAFT IN MAINTENANCE FOR EVALUATION.
FUEL DUMP: SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, WITH 27,000 POUNDS OF FUEL ON BOARD, VISIBLE FUEL STREAMING FROM LEFT WING NACA DUCT. LEAK APPEARED TO STOP IN LEVEL FLIGHT. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES. // SIGNOFF // GAINED ACCESS TO L/H WING FUEL TANK, AND DRAINED BOTH LH AND RH PLENURNS, FUEL DRAINED FROM LH SIDE APPROX 4 GALLONS AND RH APPROX 1/4 GALLON. VISUALLY INSPECTED ALL PLUMBING AND OVERBOARD VENT/RAM AIR INLET, VENT FLOATS, VENT PLENUM, FUEL VENTILATION SYSTEM THROUGH ACCESS PANELS ON LH WING. REF. G450 _AMM 28-15-00. FOUND OUTBOARD AFT VENT FLOAT STUCK OPEN. REMOVED AND REPLACED VENT FLOAT P/N 16F123 REFERENCE G450 AMM 28-15-01. COMPLIED WITH FUEL TANK LEAK CHECK. PERFORMED LEAK CHECK LH WING FUEL TANK PANELS. NO LEAKS NOTED. NO SQUAWKS NOTED. IAW G450 AMM 28-L0-00. PERFORMED AIRCRAFT SINGLE POINT REFUELING FULL LOAD. NO FUEL ON LEFT PLENUM AND NO LEAKS. THEN DEFUELED AIRCRAFT TO IN COMING LOAD. NO SQUAWKS NOTED. NO LEAKS NOTED. JAW G450 AMM 12-13-00.
LEFT ENGINE GENERATOR: LEFT AC/DC FAILURE IN AMBER. TROUBLESHOT TO SUSPECTED LEFT IDG GROUNDING BRACKET AND FEEDER CABLE ATTACHMENT HARDWARE. NOT ALL PARTS AVAILABLE. COMPILED WITH AQRD RFTS-105208 TO TEMP REPAIR BRACKET FOR PROPER GROUNDING OF E4130B FEEDER CABLE. PERFORMED DIRECT CURRENT LOAD DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATIONAL CHECK !AW G450 MM CH.24-60-00. RAMPED AIRCRAFT AND STARTED ENGINES IAW THE G450 AFM. PERFORMED LEAK CHECK OF LEFT AND RIGHT ENGINE IDG'S REF G450 MM CH.71-00-00. PERFORMED ENGINE ALTERNATING CURRENT GENERATION OPERATIONAL CHECK IAW G450 MM CH.24-21-00. PERFORMED AC LOAD DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST !AW G450 MM CH.24-50-00. OPERATIONAL AND LEAK CHECKS GOOD.
RIGHT ELEVATOR HINGE NR 4 BEARING BLEEDING RUST AND WORN CAUSING ELEVATOR TO HAVE VERTICAL PLAY.
IN FLIGHT A LIGHT HAZE OF MIST OR SMOKE APPEARED. SHORTLY AFTER, THE LT AC GENERATOR FAILED. REMOVED AND REPLACED LEFT ENGINE IDG GCU IAW CMP 242603.
THE APU WHEN "COLD" WITH AIR SELECTED ON EMITS "SMOKE" INTO CABIN. IT SMELLS LIKE "OILY" EXHAUST. MAINTENANCE SAW SLIGHT SMOKE, APU WAS WARM, AND PRODUCED AND ODOR. INSTALLED DIFFERENT APU. OPS AND LEAK CHECKED GOOD.
AFTER COLD SOAK AT ALTITUDE, BRAKES VERY GRABBY. PEDAL DEFLECTION OPERATES NORMALLY BUT NO BRAKE PRESSURE ON INDICATOR APPEARS UNTIL AN INCH OR MORE BRAKE PEDAL DEFLECTION. THEN THE BRAKE PRESSURE JUMPS TO 600 PSI AND THE BRAKES GRAB AND JERK THE AIRCRAFT. REMOVED FAILED ANTISKID CONTROL UNIT, AND INSTALLED A TESTED UNIT. NO DEFECTS NOTED.
