ON DISASSEMBLY OF THE ENGINE, METAL WAS FOUND IN THE GEARBOX. NR 3 ROLLER BEARING EXHIBITED METAL PICKOUT IN SEPERATOR POCKETS. INSTALLED A NEW BEARING.

DURING INSPECTION OF STARTER/GENERATOR, FOUND THE COMMUTATOR END BEARING FAILED. BOTH ARMATURE AND STATOR WERE DAMAGED. THESE BEARINGS ARE DESIGNED TO LAST 1,000 HOURS.
