FLT 6389 - PHX-YUM - DURING TAXI-OUT, THE CREW HAD AN OVERHEAD EMERGENCY LIGHT INOPERATIVE AND THE MAIN DOOR EMERGENCY EXIT SIGN INOPERATIVE. THE PROBLEM WAS TROUBLESHOT TO THE EMERGENCY LIGHT BATTERIES. MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED THE 1, 2 AND 3 POWER SUPPLIES AS REQUIRED. OPS CHECKED GOOD AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. (M)

DURING THE PREFLIGHT INSPECTION, THE CREW NOTICED THE EMERGENCY EXIT SIGN LIGHT OVER THE PAX DOOR INOPERATIVE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FERRIED TO GRAND JUNCTION WERE MAINTENANCE TESTED THE SYSTEM. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THAT THE BATTERIES WERE LOW DUE TO PROLONGED TESTING. MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED ALL SIX EMERGENCY LIGHT BATTERIES. OPS CHECK GOOD AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. A/C'S RUDDER WAS INSPECTED WHILE THE A/C WAS INSPECTED DURING THE NORMAL FLIGHT SCHEDULE IN DEN BY A MECHANIC DISPATCHED OUT OF THE PRIMARY MAINTENANCE FACILITY. THE FWD RUDDER LOWER RIB END CAP ACCESS PANEL COVER PLATE WAS NOTED TO HAVE SEVERAL RIVETS THAT WERE PULLED THROUGH THE ACCESS PANEL COVER PLATE AND THE RIB END CAP HAD SEVERAL CRACKS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FERRIED TO GRAND JUNCTION WHERE THE FORE AND AFT RUDDERS WERE REMOVED. A NEW ACCESS PANEL COVER PLATE WAS FABRICATED AND INSTALLED AND THE RIB END CAP WAS REPLACED IAW RO NR DHC82-55-0001-GJT. THE RUDDERS WERE REINSTALLED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED

DURING NIGHT MAINTENANCE, FOUND .5 INCH OF PLAY IN PTICH CONTROL BETWEEN THE CAPTAINS AND FIRST OFFICERS CONTROL COLUMNS. INSPECTED AND FOUND LOOSE BOLTS ON EACH END OF THE PITCH CONTROL TORQUE TUBE THAT INTERCONNECTS THE TWO CONTROL COLUMNS. RETORQUED BOLTS AS REQUIRED. NO FURTHER DISCREPANCIES, AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED FOR SERVICE. (M)
DEN/JAC - FLT 7532 - EN ROUTE APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES OUT OF DEN, EXPERIENCED NR 1 HYD SYSTEM PRESSURE AND QUANTITY LOSS. THE CREW THEN DELCARED AN EMERGENCY AND RETURNED TO DEN WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED ACFT AND FOUND A HYD LINE, P/N 82960010191, AT THE NR 2 SPU WHICH HAD CRACKED AT THE FLARE. THE LINE WAS REPLACED BY A TEMPORARY FLEXIBLE LINE, P/N DSC-252B40124, PER AMM TO BE REPLACED WITHIN 200 FLIGHT CYCLES. THE NR 2 HYD SYSTEM WAS THEN SERVICED AND LEAK CHECKED WITH NO DISCREPANCIES AND THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
