RESOLUTION: R/HAND PACK OUTLET DUCTING FOUND TO BE CONTAMINATED WITH SKYDROL FROM LEAKING RESERVOIR. DUCTING REPLACED WITH NEW ITEM AND AIR CONDITIONING CHECK CARRIED OUT. NO ODORS NOTED. REHEATER/CONDENSER OUTLET DUCT REPLACED IAW AMM 21-52-17. R/H RESERVOIR REPLACED WRT CMP 291606.
STRONG ODOR AT TAKE-OFF AND POWER CHANGES. SMELLS LIKE A CHEMICAL AND WET "PUP TENT". WORST ODOR ON LAST LANDING, COULD TASTE, BURNS EYES. ODOR LINGERED WELL AFTER SHUT DOWN AND DOORS OPEN . CREW ALSO REPORTED AN ODOR, WAS NEVER PRESENT WHEN APU AIR WAS USED. RAN AIRCRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS USING APU FIRST THEN LEFT ENGINE THEN RIGHT ENGINE TO TRY TO ISOLATE IF ANY SOURCE PRODUCED A DIFFERENT ODOR. NO DIFFERENCE NOTICED. SELECTED TEMPS TO FULL HOT AND NOTICED A DIFFERENT ODOR COMING FROM THE MID CABIN AREA AROUND THE DIVAN, FELT HOT AIR LEAKING UNDER DIVAN WHERE LIFE RAFTS ARE STORED. FOUND DUCTING UNDER DEVAN TO BE LEAKING IN MULTIPLE SPOTS RESEALED DUCTING USING GLASS FIBER TAPE. LEAK CHECKED GOOD, NO CURRENT ODORS NOTICED. SECURED ACCESS ITEMS ALL DONE IAW MM 21-23-01.
FLAPS 20, SELECTED MLG DOWN. RECEIVED A RED HANDLE & LT / RT GEAR UNSAFE & NLG UNSAFE CAS MESSAGES & LT HYD LOW CAS MESSAGE. LT HYD INDICATED 1.8. PROCEEDED WITH LT HYD LOW CHECKLIST, NO CHANGE IN QTY. PROCEEDED TO MLG EXTEND CHECKLIST. USED EMERGENCY MLG HANDLE, MLG EXTENDED & PROPER INDICATION ACHIEVED. EMERGENCY MLG EXTENSION BOTTLE DISCHARGED, EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION HANDLE PULLED & MLG CONT CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPED. LANDING UNEVENTFUL, HYD QTY BACK TO NORMAL ONCE MLG EXTENDED. REMOVED DEFECTIVE MLG HYD SELECTOR DUMP VALVE & INSTALLED AN INSPECTED MLG HYD SELECTOR DUMP VALVE. OPS CHECKED GOOD. NO DEFECT NOTED. WORK ACCOMPLIED IAW MM 32-30-03.
DURING CLIMB OUT, ON FERRY FLT, A FUEL IMBALANCE WAS OBSERVED ON FUEL GUAGES. ON FURTHER INSP FROM CABIN, FUEL WAS STREAMING OUT OF RT WING IN AREA OF PLENUM. IT WAS DECIDED BY CREW TO RETURN TO DEPARTURE. FUEL DOES NOT LEAK WHILE ACFT IS ON GROUND. AFT VENT FLOAT NON RETURNING VALVE (VENT DUCT) WAS STUCK IN OPEN POSITION CAUSING LEAK INTO PLENUM AND INTO THE VENT. REMOVED AFT FLOAT VENT VALVE PN 16F123 NSN AND INSTALLED NEW VENT VALVE PN 16F123 NSN. PERFORMED LEAK AND OPS CHECK WITH NO DEFECTS AT THIS TIME. WORK DONE REF AMM 28-15-01.
INFLIGHT - A THICK TRAIL OF FUEL LEAKING FROM THE RT WING WAS BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION BY THE FA. AN APPROX 350 LBS FUEL IMBALANCE CONFIRMED THE RT FUEL LEVEL WAS LOWER. THE TRAIL STOPPED MOMENTARILY BUT RETURNED. WERE ABLE TO MAINTAIN FUEL BALANCE THRU THE CROSSFLOW VALVE FOR OUR RETURN LANDING TO DEPARTURE. AFTER LANDING, A QUICK INSP CONFIRMED FUEL HAD BEEN LEAKING FROM THE NACA VENT AREA. AFT TANK FLOAT (VENT DUCT) WAS STUCK IN OPEN POSITION. REMOVED AFT FLOW VENT VALVE AND INSTALLED NEW VALVE. PERFORMED LEAK AND OPS CHECK WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED AT THIS TIME. WORK DONE REF AMM 25-15-01
