AC AIR SEEMED TO BE PUTTING OUT AMBIENT OAT. 10 MINUTES LATER THE VENT DUCT AIR STOPPED BLOWING AIR. I NOTICED CB HAD POPPED (TEMP CB). I PUSHED BACK IN AND POPPED AGAIN. I TURNED CABIN CONTROLLER FROM AUTO TO OFF. PUSHED CB BACK IN AND FAN STARTED WORKING (VENT BLOWER ON HIGH). I TRIED A/C IN AUTO ON GROUND ON CB POPPED AGAIN.
DID NOT RECEIVE A LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR INDICATION WHEN LANDING GEAR SELECTED DOWN. CYCLED LANDING GEAR UP AND BACK DOWN. LEFT MAIN STILL DID NOT SHOW A DOWN INDICATION. WHILE WORKING THROUGH THE LANDING GEAR EMERGENCY EXTENSION CHECKLIST, LEFT MAIN INDICATION BEGAN TO FLICKER AND THEN REMAINED ILLUMINATED.
UNCOMMANDED VARIATIONS IN #1 ENGINE POWER WITHOUT MOVEMENT OF THE POWER LEVER. REMOVED FUEL CONTROL UNIT AND BENCH CHECKED. FOUND FCU DRIVESHAFT TO BE BINDING INTERNALLY. REPLACED FUEL CONTROL UNIT, NO FURTHER DISCREPANCIES NOTED.
CIRCULATION OF SMOKE FUMES IN COCKPIT DURING CRUISE. PILOT OBSERVED USB CHARGING ADAPTER PLUGGED INTO CIGARETTE LIGHTER QUIT WORKING AROUND THE SAME TIME. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO DEPARTURE AIRPORT AND MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WITHOUT INCIDENT. AMT INSPECTED AIRCRAFT FOR SOURCE OF FUMES AND IT WAS APPARENT THAT A USB CHARGING ADAPTER PLUGGED INTO THE AIRCRAFT CIGARETTE LIGHTER BASE WAS THE ORIGIN. CIGARETTE LIGHTER BASE, WIRING, CIRCUIT BREAKER, AND SURROUNDING STRUCTURE WERE ALL INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE AND FUNCTIONALITY, WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. THE USB ADAPTER APPEARED TO HAVE FAILED INTERNALLY, CAUSING EXCESSIVE HEAT AND SUBSEQUENT EMISSION OF FUMES INTO THE COCKPIT.
CABIN VENTILATION BLOWER MOTOR SEIZED CAUSING SMOKE IN COCKPIT AND MELTING OF OUTER HYD BRAKE LINE PLASTIC CHAFE PROTECTION SLEEVING; LINE FOUND RESTING ON MOTOR. CIRCUIT PROTECTION (CURRENT LIMITER-30 AMP) DID NOT OPEN POSSIBLY DUE TO BLOWER SELECTED TO "LOW" POSITION.
