THE DEFECTIVE METERING UNIT WAS REMOVED AND AN OVERHAULED UNIT WAS INSTALLED. OPS AND LEAK CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE

THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT DURING FLIGHT WHEN ENGINE ANTI-ICE WAS SELECTED ON AND WHEN TURNED OFF THE LEFT ENGINE ANTI-ICE INDICATION WOULD REMAIN ON FOR AN ADDITIONAL 20 MINUTES BEFORE EXTINGUISHING. THE MAINTENANCE VENDOR TROUBLESHOT AND DETERMINED THE LEFT ENGINE TEMPERATURE SWITCH/SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW UNIT. OPS CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT THE ENGINE FIRE WARNING ANNUNCIATOR ILLUMINATED ON CLIMB-OUT WITH CLIMB POWER SETTING ON THE LEFT ENGINE. THE ANNUNCIATOR WENT OUT WHEN THE THROTTLE WAS REDUCED. THE CREW ALSO INDICATED THAT THE ANNUNCIATOR REMAINED OUT THROUGH THE REMAINING FLIGHT. THE MAINTENANCE VENDOR ACCESSED THE LEFT ENGINE FIRE LOOP AND FOUND THE LOOP CLOSE TO THE START VALVE BLEED AIR LINE. THE MX VENDOR REPOSITIONED THE LOOP AS REQUIRED. PERFORMED ENGINE RUNS TO POWER WITH NO LEAKS NOTED AND NO FIRE WARNING ILLUMINATED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, LIGHT SMOKE ENTERED THE COCKPIT. AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE AUXILIARY POWER UNIT (APU) THE SMOKE DISSIPATED. THE FLIGHT CREW RETURNED BACK TO THE AIRPORT AND COMPLETED A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING WITH INCIDENT. A MAINTENANCE VENDOR DETERMINED BY BORE SCOPING THAT AN INTERNAL OIL SEAL TO THE APU FAILED CAUSING THE SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT/CABIN. THE CAUSE TO THE FAILED OIL SEAL WILL BE DETERMINED ONCE THE APU HAS BEEN DISASSEMBLED AND EVALUATED APU MODEL RE100(XL) S/N P575.
