ATA 7320

ON 12/12/08 THE "FUEL BOOST PUMP ON R" AMBER CAS MESSAGE DISPLAYED IN FLIGHT. THE MOTIVE FLOW PRESSURE SWITCH WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AND THE SYS CHECKED OUT. ON 12/13/08 THE SAME INDICATION CAME ON. THE RT BLEED VALVE SOLENOID WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AND THE SYS CHECKED OUT GOOD. ON 12/25/08 THE SAME INDICATION OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY DURING TAXI. THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AT THIS TIME AND OPERATED NORMALLY. ON 1/31/09 THE ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS RE-INSTALLED WITH A NEW FUEL CONTROL UNIT. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.

ON 11/25/08 CREW REPORTED "ENGINE CHIP DETECT R". MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE CHIP PLUG WITH NO METAL FOUND. ON 12/13/08 CREW REPORTED INTERMITTENT ILLUMINATION OF THE SAME LIGHT. MX REMOVED CHIP DETECTOR AND FILTER WITH NO METAL FINDINGS. ON 02/09/09 THE SAME INDICATION OCCURRED THE CHIP DETECTOR WAS INSPECTED WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A RENTAL UNIT. ENGINE WAS TORN DOWN BY MFG WHO DETERMINED THAT THE NR 2 BEARING AND CAGE SILVER COATING WAS FLAKING OFF. WHILE NON-FERROUS, THE NICKEL BASE COAT CREATED CONTINUITY ON THE DETECTOR AND TRIPPED THE LIGHT. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE IS SCHEDULED TO BE INSTALLED ON THE AIRFRAME 04/20/09.

AN ENGINE VIBRATION WAS NOTICED BY CREWS IN FLIGHT AT 50-52 PERCENT N1. MFG ADVISED THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND CAUSED BY A BLEED AIR VALVES TRANSITIONING. ON 10/10/2008 TWO BLEED AIR VALVES WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED. THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE.
