DURING OXYGEN SYS MAINTENANCE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE MAIN OXYGEN BOTTLE VLV WOULD NOT SHUTOFF. THE O2 BOTTLE & VLV WERE REMOVED FOR OVERHAUL. IT WAS NOTED THAT THE OXYGEN BOTTLE SOV WAS OVERHAULED ONE YEAR PRIOR.

THE CREW REPORTED THAT DURING THE NR 1 ENGINE START, THE NR 1 ENGINE WOULD NOT LIGHT OFF. TROUBLESHOOTING IDENTIFIED THE IGNITION EXCITER AS BEING DEFECTIVE. THE DEFECTIVE EXCITER, WAS REMOVED AND A NEW EXCITER WAS INSTALLED. FUNCTIONAL CHECKS WERE SATISFACTORY. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
