Part: WIRE — SHORTED (BATTERY)

WHILE AIRCRAFT WAS RUNNING, THE ODOR OF BURNED WIRE INSULATION WAS NOTICED AND NR 1 GENERATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN EXTINGUISHED. AIRCRAFT WAS SHUT DOWN. THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED. UPON INSPECTION, FOUND THE CABLE FROM THE BATTERY RELAY TO THE RCCR HAD SHORTED TO GROUND.

Part: HOUSING — FLANGE DAMAGE (M/R GEARBOX)

DURING DISASSEMBLY, THE RIGHT OIL PASSAGE O-RING FLANGE WAS FOUND DAMAGED. THE DAMAGE WAS OBVIOUSLY NOTED DURING LAST OVERHAUL DUE TO THE INSTALLATION OF 2 O-RINGS TO MAKE IT SEAL.
