DURING LANDING APPROACH, AIRCRAFT STRUCK SECURITY FENCE, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO FUSELAGE SKIN PANEL ON THE LT SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE. THE LOCATION OF THE DAMAGE IS AT FUSELAGE STATION 101.18, WATER LINE 73.50. DAMAGE SUSTAINED TO SKIN PANEL IS A DENT WITH GOUGES APPROX 2 INCHES LONG.
PILOT NOTED A CHIP DETECTOR LIGHT IN-FLIGHT. PILOT LANDED IN BUFFALO, NY WITHOUT INCIDENT. CLEANED CHIP DETECTOR AND GROUND RAN. OPERATIONS CHECK OK. PILOT RESUMED TRIP TO MILWAUKEE WITHOUT INCIDENT. SOAP SAMPLE TAKEN AND SENT TO GARRETT-SPRINGFIELD FOR ANALYSIS.
PILOT DETECTED SMOKE IN CABIN. TROUBLESHOT TO NR 4 AND NR 5 LABRYNTH SEALS IN LEFT ENGINE, SN 87270. REMOVED ENGINE SN 87270 AND INSTALLED LOANER ENGINE SN P-87267. NOTE: REPAIRED AT GARRETT SPRINGFIELD W.O. NR 73041.
GEAR HANDLE WOULD NOT GO UP. TROUBLESHOT TO NOSE GEAR SQUAT SWITCH. REMOVED AND REPLACED SWITCH P/N 41EN45-6. OPERATIONS CHECKED OK.
RIGHT MAIN GEAR WOULD NOT LOCK UP. FOUND BAD UPLOCK SWITCH. REMOVED AND REPLACED SWITCH. NEW P/N 6217102-2.
