PILOT EXPERIENCED A RATTLING NOISE IN THE FORWARD PORTION OF THE CABIN DURING HIS SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT. THE PILOT ELECTED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING, A MECHANIC WAS DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE AND DETERMINED THE PROBLEM TO BE A FAULTY FORWARD AIR CONDITIONING BLOWER MOTOR. THE MAINTENANCE ITEM WAS DEFERRED IAW APPROVED MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN BACK TO BASE FOR REPAIR. PROBABLE CAUSE WILL BE DETERMINED AT OVERHAUL. INCREASED INSPECTIONS WILL PREVENT RECURRENCE.
DURING A ROUTINE 100 HOUR INSPECTION IT WAS NOTED THAT THE ELECTRODE WAS MISSING FROM THE IGNITER PLUG. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT IT HAD CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE NG NR 1 BLADE WHEN IT BROKE LOOSE AND SEPARATED FROM THE IGNITER. FURTHER ANALYSIS IS REQUIRED TO DETERMINE ACTUAL CAUSE OF THE FAILURE.
PART IS WORN BEYOND LIMITS. PLEASE OVERHAUL PC LINKS.
ON 11-22-99 AT APPROX 09:45 A.M., THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE PILOT MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT THE ROYAL GARDENS ON THE ISLAND OF HAWAII. A MECHANIC WAS FLOWN TO THE SITE AND INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT. A GROUND RUN-UP SHOWED THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE AND OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGES WERE IN THE NORMAL OPERATING RANGE. THE LOW PRESSURE LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED AT THIS TIME. FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND MOISTURE IN THE CANNON PLUG. THE PLUG AND SENDING UNIT WERE CLEANED WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.
