FLOOR EMERG EXIT LIGHT: FLOOR LIGHT UNDER SEAT 3 IS INOP WITH EMER LIGHT SWITCH IN ANY POSITION CORRECTIVE ACTION: THE PATH LIGHT IN CABIN WORKS NORMALLY AT SEAT #3 BUT THE EMERGENCY PORTION AT SEAT #3 DOES NOT WORK. THE LIGHT WORKS OFF OF THE BATTERY 2 ZONE ALSO OPERATES THE READING LIGHT ABOVE SEAT #3 AND THE 2 WING INSPECTION LIGHTS, ALL WORKS NORMALLY. SUSPECT THE #2 EMERGENCY BATTERY TO BE DEFECTIVE. PLEASE ORDER BATTERY P/N: CBS28-1. (KA, 06/02) AFTER FURTHER DISCUSSION WITH MCC, BEING THAT THE OVERWING E-MER LIGHTS AND READING LIGHT AT SEAT #3 LS WORKING, SUSPECT THE LIGHT SEGMENT AT THE TOE KICK PLATE AT SEAT #3 TO BE DEFECTIVE. EMERG LIGHT SWITCH: AFTER SHUTDOWN UNABLE TO EXTINGUISH EXTERIOR EMERGENCY LIGHT AND LIGHT OVER SEAT 4 VIA EMERGENCY LIGHT SWITCH. . VERIFIED EMERGENCY LIGHT SWITCH IN OFF POSITION. . GAINED ACCESS TO THE AIRCRAFT STARTED THE APU AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND CHARGED UP THE EMERGENCY BATTERIES. AND FOUND THAT THE SEAT 4 AND UH WING EMERGENCY LIGHTS THAT WOULD NOT EXTINGUISH WITH THE COCKPIT EMERGENCY LIGHT ARM/ ON/ OFF SWITCH. DISCUSSED THE EMERGENCY LIGHTING ISSUE AT 1620 LOCAL, TO GET HELP WITH FINDING THE CORRECT SEATING ARRANGEMENT AND BATTERY/ G-SWITCH LOCATION FOR THE SEAT 4 AND LH WING EMERGENCY LIGHTS THAT WOULD NOT EXTINGUISH. REMOVED THE LH LOWER SIDE WALL PANEL TO GET ACCESS TO THE SEAT #4 EMERGENCY BATTERY/ G-SWITCH AND RESET THE SWITCH. REF: AMM 33-50-06 AND 33-50-11. THEN CHARGED UP THE BATTERIES SOME MORE AND SHUT DOWN ELECTRICAL FOR AN HOUR. STARTED UP APU AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND COMPLETED THE EMERGENCY LIGHTINGADJUSTMENT/ TEST AND INSPECTION /CHECK IAW AMM 33-50-00. OPS CHECKS WERE GOOD, NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING: EMERGENCY LIGHTING IS HOOKED UP BACKWARDS. WHEN THE HANDLE IS IN THE ON POSITION ALL EMERGENCY LIGHTS ARE OFF. WHEN THE HANDLE IS IN THE ARM POSITION ALL EMERGENCY LIGHTS ARE ON.///SIGN-OFF///REMOVED AND REPLACED COCKPIT OVERHEAD SWITCH PANEL IAW CE 680A AMM 33-10-35. OPS CHECK GOOD.
AT TOP OF DECENT, FL270 STARTED GET AN OILY SMELL IN THE CABIN. NEVER GOT "SMOKEY" BUT THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR UNTIL AROUND 2500 FT.
