ATA 2497

DURING CLIMB THROUGH FL 350, THE FLIGHT CREW RECEIVED A WHITE CAS MESSAGE (L)(R) BATT OFF AND (L)(R) GEN OFF, FOLLOWED BY CYAN ELECT FAULT. IT WAS INTERMITTENT FOR ABOUT 45 SECONDS AND THEN CLEARED. RAN THE QRH, WHICH INSTRUCTED PILOTS TO MONITOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE FLIGHT CREW CONTACTED COMPANY MAINTENANCE CONTROL AND ADVISED THEM OF THE SITUATION, ALL AGREED TO CONTINUE SINCE IT HAD CLEARED. ONCE REACHING FL 410, ALL THE INDICATIONS CAME BACK AND WERE INTERMITTENT THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE FLIGHT. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED IN RNO WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE WAS SECURED TO INSPECT AND REPAIR THE AIRCRAFT. THE MDC WAS DOWNLOADED AND REVIEWED, NO RELATED FAULTS WERE PRESENT. THE PCB1 AND PCB3 WERE RE-SEATED VARIOUS TIMES, ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS ON ALL THREE GENERATORS WERE CHECKED FOR CORROSION AND SECURITY. NO DEFECTS WERE NOTED. OPERATIONAL CHECKS OF THE ENGINE AND APU GENERATORS WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH NO FAULTS NOTED. A MAINTENANCE CHECK FLIGHT OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS PERFORM SATISFACTORILY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

ABOUT AN HOUR OUT FROM LANDING WHILE CRUISING AT FL450, THE RIGHT ENGINE ROLLED BACK AND SHUT DOWN WITHOUT ANY COMPONENT FAILURE NOR ANY ACTION FROM THE CREW. THE AIRCRAFT SHOWED IT WAS ATTEMPTING TO AUTO RE-LIGHT BUT THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF FUEL OR IGNITION. THERE WERE NO CAS MESSAGES OTHER THAN LOAD SHEDDING THAT OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE CREW RAN THE APPROPRIATE CHECK LIST AND ATTEMPTED AN ENGINE RESTART UNSUCCESSFULLY. THE CREW ELECTED TO DIVERT. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED AND TROUBLESHOT THE AIRCRAFT. FOUND THE RIGHT ENGINE FIRE PUSH BUTTON SWITCH AND RIGHT HYD SOV PUSH BUTTON SWITCH SELECTED ON, ON THE CENTER PEDESTAL. SWITCHES WERE SELECTED TO THE NORMAL POSITION. ADDITIONALLY, THE RIGHT ENGINE, LOWER IGNITION EXCITER UNIT, LOWER LEAD WAS FOUND TO BE LOOSE. THE LEAD WAS DISCONNECTED, INSPECTED AND PROPERLY CONNECTED. RIGHT ENGINE GROUND RUNS WERE ACCOMPLISHED WITH NO ISSUES NOTED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RETURNED TO SERVICE WITH NO FAULTS NOTED.

DURING CRUISE, THE FLIGHT CREW RECEIVED A, LT HYD ENG PUMP FAIL, CAS MESSAGE. THIS WAS A REPEAT PUMP FAIL FOLLOWING THE PREVIOUS FLIGHT AND AFTER THE ACFT WAS RELEASED FROM MAINTENANCE FOR A LT HYDRAULIC LEAK & PUMP FAIL MESSAGE. FLIGHT CREW ELECTED TO DIVERT AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. MAINTENANCE TECHS REPLACED THE FAULTY LT ENGINE DRIVEN HYDRAULIC PUMP, PN 51160-06, AND CASE DRAIN MANIFOLD, PN 945175-1. LEAK AND OPS CHECKS WERE NORMAL. THE ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

DURING CRUISE, THE FLIGHT CREW RECEIVED A CYAN LT ENG PUMP FAIL CAS MSG, AT WHICH TIME THE CREW NOTED THAT THE LT HYD SYS QTY WAS AT 2%, HOWEVER, THE SYS PRESS WAS IN THE GREEN. A SHORT TIME LATER THE ASSOCIATE HYD SYS LOW AMBER CAS MSG ILLUMINATED. RAN THE APPROPRIATE CHECKLIST & CONSULTED WITH MX CONTROL & CPO. THE DECISION WAS MADE FOR THE CREW TO CONTINUE TO THEIR ORIGINAL DESTINATION, SINCE THE WX CONDITIONS WERE FAVORABLE THERE. AN EMER WAS DECLARED & AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING ACCOMPLISHED. MX FOUND HYD TUBE ASSY, PN 1005354124-005, LEAKING, DUE TO CHAFFING FROM A SUPPORT CLAMP. HYD TUBE ASSY WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW UNIT, LEAK & OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE NORMAL. ACFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
