STRINGERS NR 8,9 ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AFT PRESSURE BULKHEAD WERE FOUND CRACKED DURING COMPLIANCE OF AD 93-25-07. CRACKS WERE FOUND AT THE FWD RIVET. REPAIR KITS WERE INSTALLED IAW MANDATORY SB.
WHILE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE TO REPAIR A FUEL LEAK THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED CORROSION ON DEFUEL ADAPTER PLATE IN NACELLE TANK. FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND SIGNIFICANT CORROSION ON DEFUEL ADAPTER PLATE ASSY. THIS PLATE ALSO SUPPORTS THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE NACELLE FUEL PROBE. SECTION 28-40 OF THE KING AIR MM COVERS THE RECURRING 30 MONTH INSPECTION OF THE NACELLE FUEL PROBE FOR CORROSION AND CONTAMINATS. THIS PORTION OF THE PLATE ASSY. IS DIFFICULT TO SEE. MOISTURE IN THE LOW PART OF THE NACELLE TANK CAUSED CORROSION.
PILOT CALLED IN AND REPORTED FLUCTUATION OF FUEL AND TORQUE INDICATION ON RIGHT ENGINE. RETURNED TO BASE AND MONITORED ENGINE PARAMETERS, SHUT DOWN RIGHT ENGINE WHEN UNABLE TO CONTROL TORQUE SETTINGS. ON INSPECTION FOUND BEARING FAILED ON FUEL CONTROL UNIT, WAS THE FRONT BEARING ON DRIVESHAFT,PN 2525501. TEARDOWN REPORTED BEARING WASHED OUT/ LUBRICANT WAS LOST THROUGH SEAL.
PILOT SELECTED GEAR DOWN, NO RESPONSE. PERFORMED MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION AND LANDED AIRCRAFT. TROUBLESHOT GEAR DOWN CIRCUIT, FOUND ATTACHING SCREENS FOR GEAR DOWN RELAY IN LANDING. GEAR CONTROL BOX HAD COME LOOSE. RE-SECURED RELAY AND PERFORMED GEAR RETRACTION, CHECK OK. GEAR MOTOR CONTROL BOX WAS REPLACED 12-7-93, ACFT TT: 6,446.4 HRS WITH OVERHAULED UNIT. (X)
