WHILE ON DESCENT AT FL200 AND LOW THRUST SETTING, THE RIGHT ENGINE FAILED. THE APPROPRIATE CHECK LIST WAS FOLLOWED AND A RESTART WAS ATTEMPTED. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITH ONE ENGINE. THE ENGINE HAS SINCE BEEN REMOVED FOR INSPECTION AND EVALUATION. RECOMMENDED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE W5 HARNESS, OSSD AND BOTH ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROL UNITS. THE N1 OVERSPEED SHUT-OFF DETECTOR P/N: 3034256-4 S/N: 16-162151-00732, W5 HARNESS P/N: 3034427-3 S/N: 16-162599-02772, ECU A P/N: 2119576-1011 S/N: 74-V0067, AND ECU B P/N: 2119576-1011 S/N: 94-V0108 WERE ALL REPLACED WITH REPAIRED OR NEW UNITS. OPS CHECKS WERE NORMAL. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

WHILE DESCENDING THROUGH FL180, THE FLIGHT CREW DETECTED A STRONG ODOR, FOLLOWED BY SMOKE AND FUMES COMING FROM THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF THE PILOTS WIND SCREEN. CREW DONNED THEIR O2 MASKS AND IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE WINDSHIELD HEAT. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED. THE SMOKE EVENTUALLY SUBSIDED AND AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. MAINTENANCE FOUND SEVERAL SHORTED/BURNT WIRE TERMINAL RINGS AT THE WINDSHIELD HEATING ELEMENT TERMINAL BLOCK; CAUSE UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME. BOTH THE LT WINDSHIELD (P/N 185901-3) AND THE LT WINDSHIELD TEMP CONTROLLER (P/N 3801A1) WERE REPLACED. WINDSHIELD LEAK CHECK AND HEATING ELEMENT OPERATIONAL CHECK WERE NORMAL. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

WHILE EN ROUTE, THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED A CYAN FLAPS FAULT MSG. AFTER CHECKLIST REVIEW & UPON ARRIVAL, FLIGHT CREW EXTENDED THE FLAPS EARLY AT WHICH THEY FAILED. DID ONE FLAP RESET & TRIED A COUPLE DIFFERENT FLAP POSITION SETTINGS. FLAPS WOULD EITHER TRAVEL WRONG WAY OR NOT MOVE AT ALL, SO THEY WERE LT IN A FINAL SETTING OF FLAPS 15. DUE TO THE ERRATIC BEHAVIOR OF THE FLAPS THE ACFT WAS DIVERTED FOR ADEQUATE RUNWAY LENGTH, AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. ONCE ON THE GND THE FLIGHT CREW WORKING WITH MAINTENANCE CONTROL DID AN FCU RESET & THE FAULT CLEARED. PERFORMED SEVERAL FLAP EXTENSIONS WHICH WERE NORMAL. AN INFO ONLY ENTRY WAS ENTERED INTO THE LOGBOOK. NO REPEAT OF THE ISSUE SINCE.

DURING NORMAL CRUISE AT FL430, THE FLIGHT CREW RECEIVED A WOW FAIL CAUTION MESSAGE AND A PROX SYS FAIL MESSAGE. INITIATED THE QUICK REF HANDBOOK PROCEDURES. AFTER LANDING GEAR EXTENSION, IT TOOK APPROX 60 SECONDS FOR THE ANNUNCIATOR LIGHTS TO TURN TO GREEN FROM AMBER. THE ACFT LANDED UNEVENTFULLY AND GROUND SPOILERS WERE MANUALLY DEPLOYED. TROUBLESHOOTING WAS PERFORMED AND TECHS DETERMINED THAT THE PROXIMITY SENSOR ELECTRONIC UNIT WAS INDICATING FAULTS AND THE LT MLG PROXIMITY SENSOR WAS RE-RIGGED. OPS CHECKS OF THE SYS HAVE NOT YET BEEN COMPLETED AT THE TIME OF FILING THIS REPORT.
