PILOT REPORTED WINDSHIELD DEFROST OVERHEAT WARNING LIGHT ON IN FLIGHT ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED AND FOUND THE COCKPIT HEAT ASSEMBLY INOP. UNIT WAS REPLACED WITH NO ADDITIONAL DEFECTS.
PILOT EXPERIENCED AN UNCONTROLLED ROLL TO THE RIGHT IN CRUISE WITH THE AUTOPILOT ENGAGED. TROUBLESHOOTING IN PROGRESS.
DURING SCHEDULED INSPECTION, EXCESSIVE RADIAL END PLAY WAS NOTED IN THE AFT ATTACH BEARINGS (HINGE ASSY.) FOR THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER PN: 212-55-10-1006-000. THESE ATTACH BEARING ASSEMBLIES WILL BE REMOVED AND REPLACED USING NEW PARTS.
THE NLG ATTACH STRUCTURE WAS FOUND TO BE DAMAGED DURING AN INSPECTION INITIATED DUE TO SIMILAR FINDINGS ON OTHER COMPANY AIRCRAFT. THE DAMAGE IS LOCATED AT FWD MOST FUSELAGE BULKHEAD, LWR CENTER SECTION, IN THE AREA CORRESPONDING TO THE NLG MOUNTS. THE STRUCTURE AFT OF NLG BULKHEAD WAS INSPECTED WITH THE FOLLOWING DEFECTS NOTED: THE FWD SECTIONS OF FLOORBOARD SUPPORTS AS THEY ARE RIVETED TO FORWARD-MOST FUSELAGE BULKHEAD ARE CRACKED. THE OEM HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND A FLEETWIDE INSPECTION HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR ALL COMPANY AIRCRAFT.
DURING A TRAINING FLIGHT WHILE PRACTICING MANEUVERS, THE ELEVATOR TRIM POSITION MOVES INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT INPUT FROM CREW; TENDS TO MOVE TO FULL NOSE DOWN POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT WAS CONTROLLABLE AND LANDED SAFELY. THE AIRFRAME OEM INSTRUCTED THE REPLACEMENT OF ELEVATOR TRIM ACTUATOR WITH IMPROVED VERSION REPORTED IN TECNAM SB-372-CS DATED 03/10/2020.
DURING THE PREFLIGHT PANEL SCAN, THE PILOT SEAT CIRCUIT BREAKER WAS OPEN. THE BREAKER WAS RESET. A SMALL AMOUNT OF ELECTRICAL SMOKE WAS NOTED AT THE BREAKER ITSELF WHEN THE MASTER POWER WAS TURNED ON. THE WIRE HARNESS FOR THE PILOT SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT ACTUATOR WAS FOUND TO BE CHAFED AND ARCING AGAINST THE SEAT BASE FRAME. THE WIRING HARNESS WAS REPAIRED AND SECURED.
POWER TURBINE GOVERNOR FLYWEIGHTS AND BUSHING FAILED CAUSING GOVERNOR TO DUMP PY AIR TO FUEL CONTROL UNIT ALLOWING POWER TO DROP TO 50 PERCENT. ENGINE WAS FEATHERED AND RETURNED TO HOME BASE WHERE GOVERNOR WAS REPLACED WITH OVERHAULED UNIT AND CHECKED OPERATION AND FLIGHT TEST.
