WHILE PERFORMING AN INSPECTION OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER ATTACH FITTING PER AD 2005-13-31 AND SERVICE BULLETIN SD360-53-45, FOUND CORROSION ON SHEAR ATTACHMENT FITTING P/N SD3-12-6978. FITTING WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH NEW FITTING IAW SB SD360-53-45 AND AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
WHILE PERFORMING AN INSPECTION FOUND HEAVY CORROSION ON RUDDER TORQUE TUBE. RUDDER TORQUE TUBE WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW UNIT AND AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.
SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, HYD LT CWP LIGHT ILLUMINATED. CREW DISCUSSED THE ISSUE & RETURNED TO BASE & SWAPPED PLANES. UPON TROUBLESHOOTING, MAINTENANCE DISCOVERED THE FLAP ACCUMULATOR TO HAVE AN INTERNAL LEAK. ACCUMULATOR WAS REPLACED. OPERATIONS CHECKED SATISFACTORILY PERFORMED.
DURING APPROACH, CREW SELECTED LANDING GEAR DOWN. RT MAIN SHOWED UNSAFE. CREW ABORTED APPROACH AND PERFORMED QRH PROCEDURES TO ATTEMPT TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. UNSAFE INDICATION REMAINED, CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. LANDING PROCEEDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE UNSAFE INDICATION WAS DETERMINED TO BE A FALSE WARNING.
DURING FLIGHT CONTROL CHECK PRIOR TO TAKEOFF, FLAPS WERE OPERATED FULL DOWN. LEFT FLAP DID NOT RETRACT WHEN COMMANDED TO FULL UP POSITION. MAINTENANCE OBSERVED LEFT FLAP CABLE BROKEN IN TRAILING EDGE OF WING NEAR FLAP SELECTOR VALVE.
AC HAD NORMAL STARTUP, TAXI OUT AND WAS CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF. FO WAS FLYING, CAPTAIN SET THE POWER, MADE THE CALLOUTS AND HAD JUST FINISHED SAYING (AIRSPEED ALIVE) WHEN FLIGHT CREW HEARD AN EXPLOSION, FELT THE LT WING DIP JUST AFTER A SLIGHT LT YAW. FLIGHT CREW CALLED (ABORT). TOOK THE POWER BACK TOP BETA. PLANE NEVER MADE IT TO (70 KNOTS) CALL SO AC WAS ABOUT 60 KNOTS WHEN IT HAPPENED. NEVER LOST CENTERLINE AND NEVER USED BRAKES BUT COASTED OFF THE RUNWAY AT DELTA. MECHANIC WAS DISPATCHED, AND REMOVED DAMAGED LT MAIN WHEEL AND REPLACED WITH A SERVICEABLE MAIN WHEEL ASSY. DAMAGED HONEYCOMB LANDING GEAR POD ASSY WILL BE REPAIRED FOR THE INTENDED FERRY FLIGHT TO COMPLETE THE REQUIRED PERMANENT REPAIR. (K)
THE TAIL DE-ICE BOOTS WERE INOPERABLE DURING THE FLIGHT. THE DE-ICE TIMER WAS REPLACED. OPS CHECK GOOD.
