WHILE CLIMBING THROUGH FL 390 WE RECEIVED PIT TRIM ANNUCIATION ON BOTH PFDS. THE TRIM WHEEL WAS TRYING TO TRIM BUT WAS BINDING AND NOT MOVING AND HAD AN AUDIBLE BINDING SOUND. NEITHER ELECTRIC OR MANUAL TRIM WERE WORKING. THE TRIM NEVER COULD GO PAST THE WORD "DOWN" ON THE TRIM RANGE INDICATOR. ON THE GROUND TRIM WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE WORD "TRIM", THE NORMAL RANGE. UPON REACHING FL410 THE ANNUNCIATORS WENT OUT. PICTURE ATTACHED. ARRIVED AT AIRCRAFT, FOUND PITCH TRIM TO TRAVEL FULL RANGE WITH NO BINDING FOUND AT ANY POINT IN TRAVEL. PERFORMED OPS CHECKS OF THE AUTOPILOT SERVOS IAW FIM, WITH NO DEFECTS. THE ACTUATORS ARE STILL HAVING WATER INTRUSION WHICH IS FREZZING IN FLT & THEN WORKING AGAIN ON THE GROUND. MCC REQUESTS TO TO CHANGE BOTH ELEVATOR TRIM ACTUATORS. REMOVED RH PITCH TRIM ACTUATOR P/N 6660161-14. AND REPLACED WITH OVERHAULED ACTUATOR P/N: 6660161-14(OVERHAUL PERFORMED BY AEROTECH SERVICES LLC CRS#7A0R297C ON WORK ORDER WO 000318-ATS DATED 24/AUG/2023) REMOVED LH PITCH TRIM ACTUATOR P/N 6660161-20 AND INSTALLED OVERHAULED ACTUATOR P/N 6660161-20. REMOVED PWR BRAKE MOTOR AND INSTALLED AN OVERHAULED MOTOR IAW CE-560XL AMM 32-44-20 RE-SET CB AND PERFORMED BRAKE BLEED PROCEDURE SERVICES HYD BRAKE SYSTEM IAW CE0560XL AMM 32-42-09 AND FOUND NO DISCREPANCIES.
MAIN CABIN DOOR HANDLE REQUIRES EXCESSIVE FORCE TO OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR. CLEANED AND LUBED ALL MAIN CABIN DOOR PINS. ADJUSTED UPPER AFT LATCH PLATE INNER ECCENTRIC IAW MM 52-10-00. OPENED AND CLOSED MAIN CABIN DOOR SEVERAL TIMES. OPS CHECK GOOD AT THIS TIME.
EMERG LIGHT SWITCH: AMBER LIGHT FOR THE EMERGENCY LIGHT SWITCH IS INOP // SIGNOFF// REMOVED AND RELNSTALLED NEW LAMP P/N 6838. REMOVED AND REPLACED SOCKET P/N MS90308·4, OPERATIONAL CHECK OF LIGHT FOUND SATISFACTORY. REFERENCE: 560XL AMM 33·10·01 AND SPM 20-30.30
CABIN EMERG LIGHT: CIRCUIT BREAKER HT 043 POPPED ON THE AFT CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL IN THE APU COMPARTMENT. WE EXPERIENCED HEAVY ELECTRICAL SMELL AND SMOKE IN THE CABIN IN FLIGHT . THE SMOKE DISSIPATED AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES. FOUND SEVERAL DROP AISLE LIGHTS ON LEFT SIDE OF AIRCRAFT HAD SHORTED AND MELTED. FOUND 2 MORE THAT WERE DAMAGED. REPLACED THE 5 FORWARD DROP AISLE LIGHTS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CABIN. CABIN DROP AISLE LIGHTS OPS CHECKS GOOD. REF. CE-560XL AMM 33-20-04. THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS OPS CHECK GOOD. REF. CE-560XL AMM 33-50-00.
CABIN ENTRY DOOR SPRING TORQUE COUNTERBALANCE HANDLE BAR EXCESSIVELY LOOSE. BARELY MAKES OVER CENTER LOCK. ADJUSTED CABIN DOOR SUPPORT STRUT ASSEMBLY REF AMM 52-10-01 AND OPS CKD NORMAL FOR POSITIVE OVERCENTER ACTION.
CABIN ODOR OIL SMELL - DISTINCT OIL SMELL IN CABIN AND COCKPIT. STRONGER IN LAV AREA AND CABIN, LESS STRONG ON COCKPIT. NOTICEABLE ON GROUND WITH APU AIR ON AND IN-FLIGHT WITH APU AIR OFF. CLEANED THE WATER SEPARATOR REMOVED AND REPLACED WATER SEPARATOR CONDENSER BAG. POWERED UP THE AIRCRAFT AND PURGED THE AIR DUCT OF ANY RESIDUEL SMELL BY BLOWING HOT AND COLD AIR. OPS CHECK GOOD AND NO SMELL AT THE TIME.
CLIMBING THRU 10K, PAX NOTIFIED CREW OF A SMOKE ODOR IN THE CABIN. CREW CONFIRMED AND FO WENT BACK TO CHECK WHILE CAPTAIN SHUT DOWN APU. ODOR IMMEDIATELY DISSIPATED. GROUND VISUAL CHECK REVEALED NO EVIDENCE OF A PROBLEM. PERFORMED BOROSCOPE APU INLET INSPECTION FOR SIGNS OF OIL, NO EVIDENCE OF OIL FOUND. REMOVED WATER PEPARATOR AND FOUND EVIDENCE OF SMALL PARTICALS OF RED RTV, INSTALLED THE WATER SEPARATOR, AND NEW CONDENSER BAG. PERFORMED ENVIROMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM DUCT BURN OUT. PERFORMED OPS ON DIFFERENT TEMPS SETTINGS NO ODOR OF BURNING OR OIL NOTICED. ALL CHECKED GOOD IAW 21-21-00
COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE DURING TAXI OUT. ANTI-SKID LIGHT AND POWER PRESSURE CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPED. THEN LOW BRAKE PRESSURE LIGHTS. HYD FLUID ON NOSE GEAR DURING POST FLIGHT. INSPECTED BRAKE SYSTEM FOR SIGNS OF DAMAGE, NONE FOUND. OPS CHECKED BRAKES, COULD NOT DUPLICATE CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIP. REMOVED OLD BRAKE PUMP MOTOR AND INSTALLED OVERHAULED MOTOR. PERFORMED BRAKE BLEEDING, PURGED EMERGENCY BRAKE PNEUMATIC LINES AND PERFORMED ANTI-SKID FUNCTIONAL CHECK. OPS CHECK & LEAK CHECK GOOD. ALL WORK DONE IAW MM 32-44-20. INSPECTED NOSE HEAR FOUND TO BE RESIDUAL FLUID OF EMERG BRAKE SYSTEM CLEANED HYDRAULIC FLUID WITH ALCOHOL IAW MM 32-44-10.
ODORS IN THE COCKPIT DURING FLIGHT WITH APU RUNNING. SMELLS LIKE BURNED OIL. INSPECTED THE APU INLET AND EXHAUST, APU BLEED AIR DUCT AND HEAT EXCHANGER DUCT, WATER SEPERATOR AND CLEANED WATER SEPARATOR SOCK IAW MM 12-19-02. REINSTALLED WATER SEPERATOR AND PLUMBING IAW MM 21-21-00. RAN APU FOR 45 MINUTES WITH ENGINES RUNNING FOR TEN MINUTES. NO OIL ODOR NOTED. LEAK AND OPERATIONAL CHECKED GOOD.
AFTER DEPARTURE THE LG UNLOCK LIGHT REMAINED ON. DURING CLIMB OUT THE HYD PRESS LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. COMPLETED THE LG WILL NOT RETRACT CHECKLIST. LG EXTENDED NORMALLY. JACKED ACFT & PERFORMED GEAR OPERATIONAL CHECKS, NO PROBLEMS FOUND. SLIGHTLY TURNED NOSE GEAR LT & RT DURING OPS CHECK, WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE & NOTED GEAR DID NOT CTR WHEN TURNED TO RT DURING RETRACT. FOUND STEERING U JOINT ASSEMBLY FULL OF RUST & HARD TO MOVE. REPLACED 2 BEARINGS, PN S3274-1, 2 JHTT89. LOWER FORK PN 5542304-3. STEERING CROSS, PN 5542306-1. 2 SHAFTS PN 5542221-2. 1 SHAFT PN 5542221-1. TURNED NOSE GEAR DURING RETRACT & IT CENTERED PROPERLY DURING OPS CHECKS.
DURING TAKEOFF, A LOUD SOUND OF RUSHING AIR & CABIN PRESSURIZING RAPIDLY. ACCOMPANIED BY A STRONG BURNING ODOR. ANNUNCIATOR WITH FLASHING MASTER CAUTION ILLUMINATED BUT WENT OUT. TROUBLESHOT AND VERIFIED ODOR IN COCKPIT & CABIN. PERFORMED ENGINE RUNS & OPS CHECKED AIR CONDITIONING SYS. INSPECTED ACM, NO DEFECTS NOTED. BURNING ODOR IN COCKPIT BUT NOT IN CABIN. SHUT ENGINES DOWN & WITH THE APU BLEED AIR & ODOR PRESENT IN COCKPIT. ODOR IS COMING FROM THE LT GLARE SHIELD FAN AREA. VERIFIED PFD 1 MODE SELECTOR CONTROLLER TO BE THE SOURCE OF ODOR. REMOVED AND REPLACED THE LT MODE SELECTOR. OPS CHECKED GOOD IAW MM 34-25-01. COMPLIED WITH HIGH POWER ENG RUNS. NO DEFECTS NOTED & NO CAS MESSAGES NOTED.
DURING LANDING, LOWERING THE LANDING GEAR THE LOW BRAKE PRESSURE & ANTI-SKID INOPERATIVE ANNUNCIATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. RAN THE CHECKLIST & USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AFTER LANDING. TROUBLESHOT TO A BAD PRESSURE SWITCH. REPLACED THE PRESSURE SWITCH WITH AN OVERHAULED UNIT. OPS CHECKED WITH NO CHANGE IN ORIGINAL SQUAWK. R & R THE ANTI-SKID MOTOR ASSEMBLY. SYS OPERATIONS CHECKED GOOD. PERFORMED BRAKE BLEED PROCEDURE. ALL WORK DONE IAW MM 32-42-00.
DURING LANDING ROLL OUT AT SPEEDS ABOVE NORMAL TAXI SPEED, THE LT BRAKE GRABS EXCESSIVELY & PULLS THE ACFT TO THE LEFT. THE RT BRAKE APPEARED TO RELEASE & REAPPLY THE BRAKE 5 OR 6 TIMES DURING THE ROLL OUT. NO ANTI-SKID RELEASE MARKERS WERE NOTED AFTER LANDING IN THE NOSE COMPARTMENT. PERFORMED BRAKE BLEED OF LT & RT BRAKES, PERFORMED TAXI CHECK, CHECKED GOOD. BRAKES OPERATING SMOOTHLY & ARE NOT PULLING ACFT. ALL WORK DONE IAW AMM 32-42-00. NO OTHER DEFECTS NOTED AT THIS TIME.
LT BRAKE GRABS. R & R LT BRAKE ASSY IAW MM 32-42-01. BLED SYS AND PERFORMED OPS CHECKS. OPS CHECKS SATISFACTORY AT THIS TIME. TAXI, OPS, & LEAK CHECKED GOOD.
DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, A LOUD CLICK OR POP WAS HEARD. CREW NOTICED A STRONG ELECTRICAL BURNING ODOR IN THE COCKPIT THAT QUICKLY WENT AWAY. NO SMOKE WAS NOTED. NO CIRCUIT BREAKERS WERE TRIPPED. PERFORMED COCKPIT LIGHTING CHECK IAW MM 33-10-00, NO DEFECTS NOTED, CHECKED CABIN COCKPIT, AFT EQUIPT BAY, LOOKED BEHIND NR 1 & 2 CIRCUIT BREAKER PANELS, NO VISIBLE DEFECTS NOTED IAW MM 20-21-03.
DURING DESCENT AT 35000 FT, ELEVATOR PITCH TRIM FROZE. PITCH TRIM LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE PFD. THE ELEVATOR PITCH TRIM WAS IMMOVABLE USING BOTH MANUAL AND ELECTRIC TRIM. PITCH TRIM BEGAN OPERATING NORMALLY AT APPROX. 20,000 FT AND OPERATED NORMALLY THEREAFTER. PERFORMED GROUND OPS CHECK, COULD NOT DUPLICATE. INSPECTED AND FOUND LT TRIM ACTUATOR ROD END BEARING FAILED. FOUND RT ALT ROD END JAMMED WHEN ROTATED BY HAND. R & R BOTH ELEVATOR TRIM ACTUTORS WITH NEW. OPS CHECKED SATISFACTORY. WORK DONE IAW MM 27-32-03.
AFTER STARTING APU, A BURNING ODOR CAME FROM APU. WENT OUTSIDE AND FOUND FLAMES COMING FROM EXHAUST ALONG WITH DEBRIS FROM A BIRDS NEST. SOME OF THE STICKS AND GRASS WENT INTO THE INTAKE. SHUTDOWN APU AND DISCHARGED A PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER. CLEANED OUT APU INLET SCREEN AND TAIL EXHAUST TUBE. INSPECTED APU, NO DEFECTS NOTED. PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE APU. OPS CHECKED GOOD IAW MM 49-10-00.
ON PERFORMING AN INSPECTION-B, FOUND LT ENGINE FORWARD COWLING STRUT UPPER ATTACH BOLT SEVERELY WORN. SUSPECT VIBRATION CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR. THIS CONDITION HAS BEEN FOUND ON SEVERAL OF THIS MODEL ACFT.
ACFT WAS TAXIING TO THE RUNWAY, WHEN THE POWER BRAKES AND ANTI SKID SYSTEMS FAILED. THE CREW STOPPED THE ACFT ON THE TAXIWAY. REMOVED FAULTY MOTOR PN MP50B-1, SN 2728. FOUND COUPLER BETWEEN PUMP AND MOTOR WORN EXCESSIVELY. REPLACED COUPLER WITH NEW PN 6517103-4. TROUBLESHOT TO FAULTY POWER BRAKE ELECTRIC MOTOR. INSTALLED O/H UNIT AND OPS CHECK GOOD. PERFORMED ANTI-SKID FUNCTIONAL CHECK GOOD IAW MM 32-44-20.
BRAKES NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. GRINDING AND GRABBING. TAXIED ACFT & VERIFIED PROBLEM, BUT WENT AWAY DURING TAXI. LET BRAKES COOL DOWN & RETAXIED & BRAKE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. BLED LT & RT BRAKES IAW MM 32-44-00 & NEW BLEEDING PROCEDURE. TAXI CHECKED ACFT AGAIN, TAXI CHECKED GOOD.
POSSIBLE BIRD STRIKE ON RT ENGINE AT 7 O`CLOCK POSITION. DENT FOUND ON ENGINE LIP AND BLOOD WITH FEATHERS AROUND INTAKE. PERFORMED A BIRD STRIKE INSP ON RT ENG AND BOROSCOPRED AND FOUND NO RESIDUE OF BIRD FID INGESTION. REMOVED AND REPLACED NOSE CONE LIP WITH NEW AND OPS CHECK WAS GOOD IAW MM 71-60-006, SRM 5600-03.
POSSIBLE BIRD STRIKE ON RT ENGINE AT 7 OCLOCK POSITION. DENT FOUND ON ENGINE LIP AND BLOOD WITH FEATHERS AROUND INTAKE.
DURING TAKEOFF APPROX 500FT, CREW GOT A RT 'LO OIL PRESS' INDICATION LIGHT. CREW FOLLOWED CHECKLIST AND LANDED THE ACFT SAFELY. OIL PRESSURE WAS AT APPROX 30 PSI. ALL OTHER INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. RAN ACFT AT TAKEOFF PWR AND FOUND GARLOCK SEAL ON FCU LEAKING. REMOVED AND REPLACED SEAL. OPS/LEAK CHECKS GOOD IAW MM 72-60-01.
RT EEC INOP ON TAKEOFF ROLL AND COULD NOT REACH TAKEOFF POWER SETTING IN MANUAL POSITION. REMOVED & REPLACED R/H BLEED TORQUE MOTOR. RAN A/C FOR LEAK & OPS CHECKS. SYSTEM OP'S CHECKS SATISFACTORY AT THIS TIME. ENG MAKES POD IN BOTH MANUAL & AUTO. ALL WORK DONE I.A.W. PWC 545B M/M 71-00-00.
EXPERIENCED PITCH OSCILLATIONS IN CLIMB WITH KP/FD COUPLED TO AUTO PILOT. VIS FLUCTUATED FROM 500FPM TO +5000 FPM. GOT RED X ON VSI AND ALT AND A/S YELLOW FLAGS. APPEARS TO BE NR 1 ADC. REPLACED NR 1 ADC WITH REPAIR UNIT CERTIFIED TO AN ALTITUED OF 59,500 FT. PERFORMED PILOT PITOT/STATIC SYSTEM LEAK CHECK IAW CESSNA 560XL MM 34-11-09, FAR 91.411 AND FAR 91.413. NR 1 ADC GROUND CHECKS OPERATIONAL AND NR 1 PITOT/STATIC SYSTEM LEAK CHECK WII=THIN LIMITS.
RIGHT FRONT WINDSHIELD HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS BROKE AT FLIGHT LEVEL 390 AND APPEARS TO BE THE OUTER LAYER ONLY. VERIFIED CO-PILOTS WINDSHIELD SHATTERED. REMOVED & REPLACED RT WINDSHIELD. C/W EDGE SEAL. C/W FUNCTIONAL TEST, CHECK GOOD. C/W RETAINER SCREW TORQUE. C/W SATISFACTORY PRESSURE LEAK CHECK. REINSTALLED RAIN REMOVAL SHROUD. ALL WORK IAW CE 560XLS MM 56-11-00 & 30-41-00.
AFTER TAKEOFF, GEAR RAISED WITH NORMAL INDICATIONS. AT 400FT WHEN FLAPS RAISED TO (0) DEGREE, GOT A STEADY HYD PRESS AND STAB MISCOMPARE LIGHT. AFTER RUNNING CHECKLIST, FLAPS WERE LOWERED TO 15 DEGREES RESULTING IN HYD PRESS AND STAB MISCOMPARE LIGHTS. ADJUSTED TWO POSITION HORIZONTAL STABILIZER POSITION SWITCHES IAW MM 27-40-00 SYSTEM OPS CHECKS GOOD AT THIS TIME.
SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF POWER APPLIED NO TAKE OFF LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND AUARAL WARNING. AFTER CLEARING RUNWAY LIGHT GOES OUT. TROUBLESHOT SYSTEM. CLEANED LT AND RT SPEED BRAKE SWITCHES AND CONNECTORS, CHECKED OPERATION OF FLAP POS SWITCH, RT STAB SWITCH, ELEVATOR TRIM SWITCH AND THROTTLE SWITCHES. REMOVED PCB NZ008 INSPECTED CLEANED AND REINSTALLED. CLEANED CONNECTORS AT RT STAB SWITCH. OPERATIONAL CHECK OF NO TAKE OFF WARNING SYSTEM SATISFACTORY AT THIS TIME. WORK PERFORMED IAW THE MM CH 27-40 AND THE CE 560XL WDW.
DURING TAKEOFF ROLL LEFT ENGINE PRODUCED 80% N1. SCHEDULED TAKEOFF POWER WAS 90.1% - REMOVED AND REPLACED ENGINE WIRING HARNESS PER P&WC M/M CH 76-20-02 OPERATIONAL CHECKS SATISFACTORY. BOTH AUTO AND MANUAL MODES.
WHILE IN CRUISE AT FL410, CREW HEARD CLUNK SOUND FROM GEAR AREA, RED GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND HYD PRESS LIGHT ILLUMINATED STEADY. PULLED HYD CONTROL CB, HYD PRESS EXTINGUISHED, GEAR UNSAFE REMAINED ILLUMINATED. FOUND NOSE GEAR FREEFALL CABLE TO BE TIGHT & PREVENTING FUEL UPLOCK HOOK & SWITCH ENGAGEMENT. ADJUSTMENT NOSE GEARS UPLOCK CABLE TO ALLOW FULL UPLOCK HOOK & SWITCH ENGAGEMENT PER CE560 XL MM 32-30-08. BLED HYDRAULIC SYSTEM & SERVICED EMERGENCY GEAR BOTTLE PER CE 560 XL MM 12-13-01. OPS CHECK LANDING GEAR SYSTEM NORMAL AT THIS TIME.
AFTER ROTATION, GEAR SELECTED UP, AFTER 3-4 SEC GEAR MADE A CYCLING THUMPING NOISE FOR APPROX 3 SECONDS. RECEIVED A HYD FLOW & A HYD LOW CAUTION LIGHT. CYCLING STOPPED, GEAR LOCKED UP & HYD FLOW LIGHT WENT OUT. KEPT FLAPS AT 15 DEG AND RE-EXTENDED GEAR. HYD PRESS ILLUMINATED, HYD LOW WENT OUT & GEAR EXTENDED. THEN SELECTED FLAPS 35 DEG (170 KIAS) & FLAPS EXTENDED FINE, NO LIGHTS. ONCE ON GROUND, CHECKED GEAR AND GEAR WELLS, NO APPARENT LEAKS. HYD RESERVOIR WAS INDICATING APPROX 3 INCHES BELOW REFILL LINE. SERVICED HYD RESERVOIR. JACKED ACFT FOR GEAR RETRACTION TEST. OPERATED GEAR AND ALL FLIGHT CONTROLS SEVERAL TIMES. FOUND NO DEFECTS. OPS NORMAL. INSPECTED FOR HYD LEAKS, NO LEAKS NOTED.
AFTER GEAR UP/FLAPS UP HAD HYD PRESS, STAB MISCOMPARE ANNUNCIATORS AND UNLOCK GEAR LIGHT. PULL HYD C/B, AND LOUD THUMP HEARD AND FELT IN NOSE GEAR AREA. PUSH HYD C/B IN GET SAME NOISE. ALL LIGHTS OUT AND SYSTEMS WORKED FINE WITH GEAR DOWN AND FLAPS FULL AT LANDING. AFTER T/S VIA CE-560XL MM FOUND HORIZONTAL STAB COMPARE AIRSPEED SWITCH TO FAIL. REPLACED FAILED SWITCH WITH NEW SWITCH IA CE-560XL MM CHAP 27-40-00. CARRIED OUT OPS CHECK STANDBY PITOT/STATIC SYSTEM IAW CE560XL MM CHAP 34-11-08. CARRIED OUT STAB OPS CHECK IAW CE-560XL MM CHAP 27-40-00. ALL CHECK WERE GOOD. JACKED A/C AS REQUIRED. PERFORMED LANDING GEAR FUNCTIONAL TEST. RETRACTED AND EXTENDED LANDING GEAR 30 TIMES, NO DEFECTS NOTED.
