MX REMOVED, INSPECTED AND RE-INSTALLED THE SMOKE DETECTOR IN THE ELECTRONICS RACK, INCLUDING INSPECTION OF THE DUCTS AND RELAY SHELVES WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. DURING C-CHECK INSPECTION IN BNA, CORROSION WAS FOUND AT FRAMES 36, 38, 39, 40, AND 41. CORROSION WAS ALSO FOUND ON THE FORWARD RADAR ALTIMETER CUTOUT BETWEEN FRAMES 15 AND 16. MAINTENANCE REPAIRED CORROSION TO THE FUSELAGE IAW ASA EO 72-53-0114. THIS EO INCLUDES REPAIR SPECIFICATIONS FOR AIRCRAFT CORROSION. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. (M)

FLT 4100 - ON THE GROUND WHILE IN HOTEL MODE FOR A FLIGHT FROM ATL TO TRI, CREW EXPERIENCED SMOKE IN THE CABIN. MAINTENANCE FOUND THE RIGHT ENGINE EMITTING OIL OUT OF THE CASE VENT DRAIN. MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED THE RIGHT ENGINE 2.5 SWITCHING VALVE. OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE GOOD. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. (M)
FLT 4100 - CREW REPORTED THAT WHEN THE GROUND POWER UNIT WAS CONNECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT THAT SPARKS SHOT OUT FROM AROUND THE PLUG AND THE COCKPIT FILLED UP WITH SMOKE. SMOKE CLEARED AFTER GPU WAS DISCONNECTED. MAINTENANCE FOUND THE BACK SIDE OF THE GROUND POWER BOX DAMAGED. MAINTNANCE REPAIRED THE GROUND POWER BOX USING SRM 53-11-28. OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE GOOD. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. (M)
CREW REPORTED THAT SOME EMERGENCY LIGHTS STAYED ON WHEN SYSTEM WAS SELECTED OFF. LOCAL MECHANIC INSPECTED AIRCRAFT AND FOUND SAFE FOR A FERRY FLIGHT TO ATL. ATL MAINTENANCE REMOVED AND REPLACED THE AFT EMERGENCY LIGHTING POWER SUPPLY. OPERATIONAL CHECKS WERE GOOD AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED FOR FURTHER SERVICE. (M)
FLT 7138 - DURING TAKEOFF VPS-ATL, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE HEARD CONCURRENT WITH A ONE-TIMER SHUDDER. CAPTAIN LEFT THE GEAR DOWN AND FLEW BY THE TOWER, WHICH REPORTED NO APPARENT DAMAGE. CREW ELECTED TO CONTINUE TO ATL AND DECLARED AND PRECAUTIONARY EMERGENCY. LANDING WAS MADE SAFELY AND WITHOUT INCIDENT. INSPECTED ALL LANDING GEAR AND GEAR DOORS. NOTED DAMAGE TO THE LEFT NOSE GEAR DOOR. DOOR WAS REMOVED, SENT TO MCN FOR REPAIR AND REINSTALLED AFTER REPAIR. A TEST FLIGHT WAS PERFORMED (INCLUDED THREE GEAR CYCLES) AND AIRCRAFT WAS FOUND TO BE SATISFACTORY FOR CONTINUED SERVICE. (M)
