ABOUR 1 INCH IN FROM THE OUTER EDGE OF THE WINDOW IT LOOKS LIKE THERE HAS BEEN A CHEMICAL REACTION WERE THE OUTER AND INNER WINDOW WAS PUT TOGETHER. THIS WAS FOUND ON FOUR OTHER WINDOWS ON THE SAME AIRCRAFT. (K)
LT ENGINE FIRE LIGHT CAME ON FOR A FEW SECONDS. AFTER REDUCTION OF POWER, LIGHT EXTINGUISHED. NO OTHER INDICATIONS OF A FIRE. INSPECTED FIRE HARNESS LOOPS WITH NO DEFECTS NOTED. COMPLIED WITH FIRE LOOP RESISTANCE CHECKS IAW MFG MM AND FOUND WITHIN LIMITS. FIRE LOOP TEST, OK. AIRCRAFT GROUND RUN AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE. REPLACED HP SECTION OF MOD VALVE CRUSH GASKET DUE TO MINOR AIR LEAK. THIS WAS NOT BELIEVED TO CAUSE THE PROBLEM.
CREW REPORTED SMOKE IN CABIN DURING FLIGHT. REMOVED AND REPLACED TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER AND H VALVE. OPS CHECKED OK
ORD - ON CLIMB-OUT, THE NR 2 ENGINE OIL FILTER BYPASS LIGHT CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY A LOSS OF OIL QUANTITY AND A RISE IN OIL TEMPERATURE. ENGINE SHUTDOWN, FUEL DUMP AND ACFT RETURNED TO ORD. POST FLIGHT INSPECTION OF ENGINE SHOWED NO EXTERNAL LEAKS. ENGINE MAIN OIL FILTER WAS FOUND FULL OF THICK BLACK OIL. SUSPECT NR 4 BEARING CARBON SEAL FAILURE. ACFT WAS FERRIED TO MAINTENANCE BASE FOR ENGINE CHANGE.
ON DESCENT INTO HKG, NR 4 ENGINE STAYED IN IDLE WITH NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. APPLIED FUEL HEAT WITH NO HELP. ATTEMPTED RESTART TO RESCHEDULE FUEL. STILL NO RESPONSE. LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAIN FUEL FILTER CHECKED AND REPLACED IAW MM 73-11-00. ENGINE RUN CARRIED OUT. ALL INDICATIONS NORMAL. THROTTLE CYCLING RESPONSE NORMAL. AIRCRAFT DISPATCHED. NO FURTHER DISCREPANCY NOTED.
